Andy and Piers I have a question for you. I want to gain 10 yards on each of my clubs by the end of the summer. I also have a lot of dispersion left right front and back. How should I practice my full and 3/4 shots while approaching the greens ?
The key to ANY distance in golf is HIPS, HIPS , HIPS and HIPS. The faster you a) put weight on your left side and b) rotate the hips = the more distance. Most people who try to rotate faster infact SLIDE their hips and then they stop doing it because they think "it doesn't work" sliding hips means you will come from the inside with an open clubface because the club gets stuck behind you. Instead you should think about moving your right leg into the left leg and then rotate, doing that in proper sequence gives you more distance. I hit my 8 iron 160 yards if i really push my right leg into my left and rotate as fast as i can. Before i started doing this i could barely hit my 3 wood 218 yards and now i can hit my 3 wood 262 yards. Just work on your hips and you will see a huge increase in both clubhead speed as well as accuracy.
RydeTheTiger yes this^^ rotate hips NOT slide or you'll get stuck every time. Also Id recommend strengthening your grip, may feel awful at first and you may struggle for a while but trust me it'll help in the long run. Good luck!
Juan Botha The golf swing is on an arc, if you are hitting down you are earlier in the arc so the club path will be more to the right. If you are swinging up you are later in the arc so the club path will be more to the left. Angle of attack and path are linked this way. The advantage of hitting up is higher launch can be achieve with lower loft on the club which means lower spin, high launch plus low spin = more distance. The disadvantage of hitting up is the club path is more left which for slicers can make the problem even worse. Brookes already hits it a mile he doesn't need to optimise ball flight he needs to hit fairways and for his swing hitting down allows him to do that as if he was hitting up he would be swinging even more left bringing in bigger misses. They actually did a video on this recently, the 3 ways to hit more accurate drives video.
Me and my golf can you help me whenever I swing the club on my downswing my shoulders dip down and that leads to chunks. Can you help me not dip my shoulders down?
I've watched quite a few meandmygolf videos, but I think this might just be the first time I've ever seen Andy perform the demo! :)
Key takeaways:
1. Hit it well over 300 yards
2. Hit it straight
3. Be an animal

My baseball swing has had an affect on my golf swing, so now my golf backswing is very linear. How do I fix that?
Do a follow up video with how brooks hits his irons. Cheers from New Jersey
Will brooks last? Will he need heavy weights to maintain this swing?
My iron shots are coming off of the club clean, but I am not getting nearly the distance I would like. What can I do to get that ball going further?

Can you please elaborate on hitting down vs up driver?
Most videos suggest up but Brooks down.
What are the pros and cons?
Thx

Brooks KWepka
Do you think the pronounciation will improve a year later after repeating this year?
He dominated, it was fun to watch!

Jackson Phillips I think I can help actually I had that issue but went for a lesson last week and have sorted it I think
I have the setting speed, but I'm not getting the distance on my shots. What gives?
Andy has a majestic mane of hair.
