He never said it's illegal. He's questioning his moral bankruptcy for selling it. And if you know headshops, then you know that it's different pipes for cannabis than for the hard shit. Besides that shop owner is clearly a dick.

This legalization experiment only lasted a year and was reversed. Kevin, the guy, that used be associated with this channel actually was arrested a year ago for stealing from the homeless. He took advantage of them, believing he could help.
I went through there about 10 years ago, it’s the homeless capital of Canada. Unlike the rest of Canada the climate is pretty moderate in the winter. It was pretty bad 10 years ago, I’de never go back.
If people knew all the particulars of what drugs do, how they're made, how they're taken, what they do to the human body, (especially heart & brain, short & long term), then there would be no mass legalization of things like cocaine, crack, heroine, LSD, etc in the first place. Rehab is a bandaid with mediocre success rate at best, with relapse stats prevailing.
@@pablot-r9402 Rehab also can be a massive ripoff, if you don't land in the right spot they are going to steal you blind. All drugs should not be legal, it's a fantasy. But some drugs should definitely be legal (the list would be the ones you don't OD on, and for psychedelics just legalize shrooms, the rest can stay illegal).
I would suggest checking out 'Thought Slime' video on this! First of all Vancouver is a city not a country. The drugs aren't 'legal' here they are decriminalized up to small amounts! It is a small area of Vancouver affected to this extent called East Hastings, it has been like this since way before they decriminalized drugs! He goes into a head shop which are completely legal and starts blasting the owner for no reason. He is using this as a way to make money off of people suffering without even trying to help them just exploit them. As a country when they decriminalized drugs they were supposed to have rehab, and all the centers available to be able these people get the help they needed. Instead they just decriminalized with no support programs in sight and they still won't be ready in my town which is also suffering bad from this till 2026/2027. He should have looked into that a bit more instead of chasing around people struggling. Also he didn't even try to go into some of the actual sketchy areas of East Hastings he just hit surface level.
I've done business in Atlanta, Philadelphia, New York and San Francisco where there are areas that look just as bad... Vancouver is just another 'big' city with a relatively small concentrated area like this!! It's not that unique and the few blocks where they were in the video is not 'the city'.
These people were drug addicts long before the law changed. I guess this guys solution is arrest them all? So they can get out in a day and start again?

Never saw this to this degree in the States. Yes, there are drug infested areas in all major cities, but drugs are not decriminalized like in Vancouver with this result. I can walk anywhere in San Francisco, and not see this degree of drug use. Stop generalizing. And red states have these cities as well. Stop politicizing a world wide problem of people turning to drugs to get high because they don’t know how to do positive actions in their lives or they are addicted. It’s BS to generalize.
I live in San Francisco which people usually refer to and I have NEVER seen anything like these pictures of Vancouver. Furthermore, the street use/sale of drugs that does exist so disturbed the population that "we the people" have removed the Mayor, the DA and several of the supervisors who allowed it and made clear we want the streets cleaned up. And our recent election was partially about the importation of illegal substances. The result gives hope it will be reduced.
Decriminalization only affects users not dealers. It's still illegal to deal. But In Vancouver, the police have chosen to contain this type of drug use to a small area to keep the rest of the city clean. It's also not as dangerous as they make it seem. I used to walk through those streets alleys at night all the time. You don't get messed with unless you are messing with other people.
Cos it’s condensed (in a general sense) to a local area, that makes any of it better? Have you walked through in the morning/midday when everybody’s jonesing and hustling again? I lived in Surrey for a bit. What’s the Vancouver murder rate, these days?
@brianforrester9670 1st world problems my friend, I come from South Africa, we know what problems these types cause. And even then we aren't as lawless as that. You go easy on degenerates and illegals, we don't.
Vancouver's Downtown East Side has been like this for decades, long before decriminalization to acknowledge that cops aren't social workers and jailing for simple possession doesn't work. Can you name the political affiliation of the health authorities, civic and provincial governments since institutions were shut down in BC and psychotropic medicines became the responsibility of the released patients? No? Stop talking out your arse, then.
Im from Vancouver, it is indeed terrible.
No it's not
Yeah, DTES was a jewel before.
This looks like areas of cities in the U.S. where "every" drug is illegal. Just look at the Kensington area of Philadelphia.
As a guy from vancouver this need to be dealt with this is getting out of control

You can't legalize without a big focus on rehabilitation and help for those who need help, thats a reciepe for disaster.
