I haven’t watched the series but, I do think Kovacs did love Ortega because the way he said that phrase it is almost a very subtle hint that he would have stayed with her in a more serious and intimate relationship. But because that body did not belong to him, he felt heartbroken too. Specially because Ortega saw Elias in him. 🥺
@@12Lanyetbh I don’t think he loved her, maybe he liked and was attracted to her or was starting to develop feelings for her. But I don’t think there was a possibility for him so stay because Ellias was returning to his own body and Ortega was already with him. And the moment Kovacs found out that Quell was still alive somewhere he decided to look out for her. I think for Kovacs there was only Quell.
@@gali1D Yeah, I mean it sounds logic because Kovacs himself said he was sorry for not being Elias. To how I understand it, it’s implying that even though he was using another skin, Ortega will always see her dead lovers face and personality, but not Kovacs. That’s why maybe he even like slept with her so that she wouldn’t feel alone or bad about the past for Elias.
@@12Lanye yeah I agree and I actually think Ortega never even liked Kovacs, she was with him because he was using Ryker’s sleeve and obviously wanted her partner back asap. And I don’t blame her, I mean imagine seeing someone in your lovers body but it’s really not him. I wished they would have kept Kovacs in Elias’ sleeve and the same writers for season 2 cause the show was amazing, but Ik they couldn’t keep just one actor because in the books Takeshi changes sleeves like he changes clothes🥴 this amazing story with complex characters had so much potential.

Basically it's a future where people put the minds on a drive so they can swap bodies. The rich people of course always getting the best ones. Also there are like upgrades you can get to the body to make it stronger and what not. The main guy is special, he's old and was part of this rebellion type thing and so he was on ice for a while. In season 1 some rich guy wakes him up because the rich guy was murdered and wanted his murder solved but there's a bunch of side stuff that goes on around that. I haven't started the 2nd season yet. Edit: I personally wasn't all that into it. I was intrigued by the premise but even though there is action in pretty much every episode I did find it a little boring and slow to get into. It's still worth a watch and I think the 2nd season will be better cause everything is established and it looks like his original sleeve will be in it more.
