Avon and Blake added a keen touch of rivalry to the show, Avon didn't like Blake running things so he always had to keep his discontent in check.....PS- when Blake quit the show Del Tarrant took over and was quite good too..:)
Darn! I just finished re-watching all of Blake's 7 episodes after maybe 6 years since the last time and then finding these interviews and talks by Paul Darrow in the last few days and now I learn that today he died! Sad news ... RIP
Really enjoyed this 👌 thanks for posting - I could act his scenes ive watched them so many times - used so many of his sligh remarks throughout my life - so sad they never let him see his dream of a revival
wow... he can go into a room without any real plan and do a whole hour of stand up comedy LOL ... I'm pondering whether the majority of Avon's quips in Blake's 7 weren't his spontaneous remarks off the cuff haha
Oh my gosh, he was so funny. He still has that wonderful dry humour & he s still so damn sexy. Not that I m surprised, but oh. I love him so much I could just burst.
RIP Paul Darrow I may not know you for Blake's 7 but I will always remember you as Lord Zarok from the game Medievil! a childhood game and also a voice from my childhood RIP
True but somehow I can turn a blind eye to the rest of the cast personally. Avon I doubt anyone can pull off like Paul did he made that character shine.
Blake's 7 success was due in part to 1) a great story, and 2) the characters who each had their flaws. It sure wasn't the special effects. lol. Blake's 7 also pioneered the sexy villan look. Time for a Reboot! Battlestar Galactica reboot was simply awesome. Dr Who reboot has been awesome (except some of the writing).
10:45- 11.05 mins seems very poignant now sadly...so sad to hear of Paul's death today!!! He really MADE B7 an enduring gem! & What a great wit! My fav... 15:55mins :) always cracks me up
Paul was amazing. RIP ❤❤ I loved him as Kerr Avon when I was 11, I still do now that I am if age - 42. He spoke so beautifully, like a true Englishman. He is forever in my memory and my heart ❤❤❤ Rest easy and know that you were loved as a beautiful human being, Paul 💖💖❤
His Avon was the perfect foil for Thomas' Blake, and he seemed to be 100% present in every uttered syllable...what a great actor, meshing so well with the cast and giving such a tangible sense of reality to his characters, including the Sheriff of Nottingham
🤚 Hi there DWASonline. Thank you so very much for posting this great video! 😃👍 Since today I've found out that mister Darrow has died last year, and I was shocked 😮. He was so great playing the character Kerr Avon on Blake's 7, and I've always wanted to let him know that... These two parts at the DWAS convention are a delight to watch! Rest in peace Paul Darrow (and also Gareth Thomas, Jacqueline Pearce, David Jackson and Peter Tuddenham). With kind regards from The Netherlands 🌷
P.D. has almost the exactly identical profile as George C. Scott ; Geo has a flatter nose. I hear the poor dear fellow - that's P.D. - has had to have his legs off at the knees due to a circulatory problem/infarction brought on by an aortic aneurysm or some such vascular impediment. Tragedy. Watching anyone die slowly is unpleasant...watching the guy who played your hero die slowly is especially unpleasant. A bit like watching "The Last Days of Patton", come to think of it... Don't smoke kids - Avon will come and get you if you smoke.
Oh my god! That's such sad news! I finally got to meet him at a con a few years back, having been a fan since Blake's 7 first aired in the UK. Lovely guy. I always worried that the smoking would cause him problems later in life.
..never lost his legs ...it was a made-up press story! .... when Pauls body went into the coffin . was in full posession of all Limbs ...do not believe what you read in the newspapers !!!!!
RIP Paul...thanks for making B7 the show it was/is.
Avon made Blake 7 ....no Avon no show. thank God for Avon.
I agree
And Servolan
Avon and Blake added a keen touch of rivalry to the show, Avon didn't like Blake running things so he always had to keep his discontent in check.....PS- when Blake quit the show Del Tarrant took over and was quite good too..:)
Which is why a "remake" could never work.
Avon and Servelan carried that show . Rest Well Paul Darrow ..

Haha, I know, it's brilliant!!!
Script.
Thanks for posting. We poor, sad things in the antipodes miss out on all the fun otherwise. And yes, Paul is still The Man. Sigh...
No problems! Glad you liked it. Paul was on top form that day : )
Oh my gosh, he was so funny. He still has that wonderful dry humour & he s still so damn sexy. Not that I m surprised, but oh. I love him so much I could just burst.
He is a great chap. Thanks for watching!

Mrs Trellis from North Wales. Methinks Paul Darrow is an I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue fan. Does he play Mornington Crescent??
Paul, may You rest in power ❤️❤️🌈
He seems like a fun guy :-)
That's one way of describing him! He's been to a few of our events and turns out to be the star of the show : )
oh and if they do remake blake 7 I can't imagine who will pull off the Avon character that there is the challenge.
All of them are irreplaceable. We couldn't imagine any of the characters being played by anyone else.
True but somehow I can turn a blind eye to the rest of the cast personally. Avon I doubt anyone can pull off like Paul did he made that character shine.

Quite possibly.

He’s entertaining even when talking crap
Loved Blake's 7 and of course Paul Darrow and what a sense of humour :)
Completely the opposite of Avon - just shows what a good actor he is.

A class actor in a classic show. A true loss.

Unfortunately Paul never got to recording the Audiobook for part 3 of his trilogy. :( R.I.P. Mr Darrow, you'll always be remembered.
Rest in Peace Paul Darrow.
Paul, you are amazing 😸❤️
love this guy !!! saw him two days ago , lost both his legs and his sense of humor was on top form had us all in stitches!!
He lost his legs?
Gavin Mcinally he had an aortic aneurysm
He may have lost his legs in 2014, but he never lost his spirit or his beautiful "Paul"-ness. 💖💖
..never lost his legs ...it was a made-up press story! .... when Pauls body went into the coffin . was in full posession of all Limbs ...do not believe what you read in the newspapers !!!!!
i would love a beer with him...
cheers Paul mate 😁😁😁😁😁😁
Final episode of B7 originally had female footstep noises(you know who). Did anyone else notice this?
When specifically?
What a great man. Very entertaining, witty and a great actor. Rest well.
Thank you for posting this.
I thought he was the best one in it.
