      Yes, it is very simple, if we just try to hold on to our own being exclusively, the more our love to do so will increase, and eventually we will turn completely within and so remain as we truly are.

      In the sixth paragraph of Nāṉ Yār? (Who am I?) Sri Ramana says:
      ‘[...] If other thoughts rise, without trying to complete them it is necessary to investigate to whom they have occurred. However many thoughts rise, what [does it matter]? As soon as each thought appears, if [one] vigilantly investigates to whom this has occurred, it will become clear that [it is] to me. If [one thus] investigates who am I, the mind will return to its birthplace; the thought which had risen will also subside. When [one] practises and practises in this manner, to the mind the power to stand firmly established in its birthplace will increase. [...]’
      Or see the sixteenth paragraph of Nāṉ Yār? (Who am I?), in which he defines ātma-vicāra as the simple practice of keeping our mind or attention fixed firmly on self (ātmā).

    how do u experience or attend to what we truly are if the experiencer is also an ego. thanks.

    • @bernhard1071
      @bernhard1071 Месяц назад +2

      Attending to what you truly are is *not* an experience, it is rather being. Only ego experiences and we can use that as a clue how well we just "be" or attend to "I am". Because as long as we experience something, no matter what, even peace, we do not attend to "I am" 100%.
      Most here have no clue how to properly practice atma-vichara/self-enquiry/self-investigation/attending to what we truly are (all names for the same thing). Attending to "I am" is simply our sense of existing, it is extremely simple, no effort is needed since we all know that we exist.
      The problem and the reason for the need for practice is that we, instead to simply be, attend to our "life", this world and all phenomena and while occupied with that (mainly with constant thoughts) we overlook this simple being.
      Most expect some big bang while getting enlightened, that is wrong, that what we are *never* changes, if it does not exist now it cannot exist in a seeming future.

      “the Atman is verily the perceiver, but the Atman is not perceived by any other” -Adi Shankaracharya

    • @bernhard1071
      @bernhard1071 Месяц назад +1

      @@sjain8111 That is a word play since when atman cannot be perceived by any other then consequently atman can only perceive atman. And that is what Bhagavan has taught, atma-swarupa (atman) or pure awareness is only aware of itself.
      Thus that what perceives (others and a body) is only ego and since ego is an illusion everything perceived is an illusion too. Atman is not any phenomena like others or this world.

      Only for those who do not grasp him. It takes maturity to truly understand him and that may only happen in a future life time. Until then, stick with that what seems palpable for you.

      @bernhard1071 Месяц назад

      If you would be really familiar with his teachings, have truly understood them, you would never get the idea it comes from satan. Why?
      Because satan only exists as an imagination of mind, everything what causes suffering is only because of mind. That is what Sri Ramana has taught.
      And he has the solution to end suffering forever.

      @@user-hp7jq8eg3x The "holy books" are written by men and therefore by mind. One needs to discriminate what is written and not believe everything what is said.
      Even something being "worse than our imagination" is an imagination and therefore not real.
