1 month game pass cancelled. changing textures to low on 3080 10G and it's still eating all my VRAM. Many cities have become tree gardens. Only some areas look (crafted ?) better. Will try again in a year or so.bye bye.
higher VRAM usage is seems suspect but if you look at the bandwidth usage of the network in 2024, its downloading EVERYTHING at the start, filling that VRAM as fast as your connection will allow. its precaching EVERYTHING at once :D
Do you see how your GPU is not running at 100% usage too, on either version? Its a "main thread limit" problem that has plagued this game from the beginning of 2020 and even still in 2024. Its so hard to tell how well a game could perform when your cpu is bottlenecking, even with a high end CPU. They definitely need to improve the optimization but I definitely get better performance in 2024 and by almost double than what is shown here.
Max has Terrain Level of Detail - 400 instead of 200. Texture Supersampling 8x8 instead of 6x6, Shadow Maps 2048 instead of 1024. Not so much difference except 200 vs 400 Terrain LEvel of Detail. (CPU killer 😃)
Well you're cpu bounded in msfs 2024 it's using 20-30% more gpu than msfs 2020 to get the same frame rate so try lower card gpu with powerful cpu to make it fair comparison
I have a 14900k and 4090. In FS2024 I'm getting roughly 80-100FPS everywhere with everything on ultra, TAA, frame gen on, and LOD 200. I get significantly better performance in 2024, even with the better visuals, than 2020. I also play in 3440x1440 (ultrawide). So, playing in a standard 16:9 would likely get you even more FPS. I'm not sure if its the CPU or something else, but the FPS seem rather low in this comparison. There are PLENTY of issues with MSFS 2024, but overall performance isn't one of the larger issues. I feel they have improved it over 2020. I also have 64gb of RAM for video editing and stuff, but there does seem to be an issue with the rolling cache and ram/vram usage after playing for a while. It seems the memory leak from 2020 is still not quite fixed. Regardless, I think 2024 definitely performs better, and looks even better than 2020, despite the mountain of other bugs and issues it still needs to work out. I'm convinced they pushed 2024 out WAY too early, just so they could have a flagship title available prior to the holidays. MSFS 2024 could have used another 6 months, minimum. I had to stop playing temporarily because I just couldnt stand how broken so many things are in this game.
0:00 Low-End
3:00 Medium
6:00 High-End
9:00 Ultra
12:00 MAX
15:00 MAX + DLSS Quality
18:00 MAX + DLSS Quality + Frame Generation
21:00 MAX + DLSS DLAA + Frame Generation (Best Visual Quality for me)

I am looking forward to 2026, when MSFS 2024 will finally be ready to play. Only whales buy AAA games before they have been fixed.

İ needed this thank you!

Gonna go through this every 4 years.
Nah. 😂
Something doesn't add up here, I'm running a 3090 + a 7800 x3d on ultra at 4k and I'll seeing better FPS than you are. What's going on?
5900X is going on :) How many FPS you are seeing with AA off Native 4K in New York similar scenario?
@@AOZ67 With 5700X3D + 4070 ti super and DLSS DLAA and 4K High to Ultra settings I get equal results as yours. Do you need DLSS balanced ?
@@MarceloPlaza well if i lower traffic sliders and fly somewhere else other than NY i get x1.5 fps (all traffic 100%)
no way , I'll stick with 22
Wich is the diference between ultra and max?

@@AOZ67 so it's a CFG edit?
@@DOGOID Not anymore. You can move the slider up to 400 and modify other settings too
MSFS 2024 👎 I want my money back 😪
Looks like I don't need to invest in FS2024 and a super high end pc after all. Thanks for posting this! You just saved me $2,600!
new game eating up so much more vram and ram with near 0 improvement
HAHAHAHAH Right? Unreal...
@@AOZ67 i would laugh too but i got the new game and i'm not really impressed with this lol

That is correct, but this is not a benchmark. This is just to show how same hardware behaves in two different versions at 4K Resolution.

msfs2024 should have been a dlc add on not a new game. Graphics are only a bit better and the handling also a bit better
i would agree but the way the engine is streaming assets is entirely different, not sure if that could be made into an update.
This whole MS Flight Simulator endeavor has turned into a very expensive scam! These people are a bunch of crooks!!!!!!
