      I hope you find some thing suitable. You may not have seen some of my other recent videos, I also use pure pine bark (horticultural grade). Again have had good results with that. See my two recent videos in this play list:
      ruclips.net/video/LeSePOLn7tk/видео.html
      You should be able to get this product in the States, and also keep looking for that Kitty Litter.

      Hello Anita, All my videos had been about my big trees, so i decided to do a series on small trees started from cuttings or small nursery plants and that is how bonsai collections are started on a budget. Great comment as usual. Hope you can get out and grow some more plants in your garden.

      mikbonsai A suggestion!!why don't make this video in Hindi?
      Also this is growing n repotting time in India so a tutorial from you, on how to cut n grow cuttings of trees will be much appreciated.
      And yes season of mangoes n there will not be dearth of mango seeds so your mango seedling video will be of great help..
      All the best.

      Great suggestions, have printed your comment, there are a number of video ideas and I will start working on them this weekend. I will need people in India to promote my Hindi videos, will post to various Indian bonsai groups on FB. Your timing with this suggestion is perfect as I have been thinking of doing Hindi Bonsai videos and in the last few days its constantly on my mind. But no afterthoughts in Hindi as I don't know Hindi Jokes !

      mikbonsai lol!! I suggest you not to experiment with British humor at least...but you can tell a thing or two abt London's climate or food culture..

      I wasn't going to, I like the suggestion about food culture, it has given me food for thought (pun not intended).

    I have been fussing over my neighbors quince for years. How easy was it to get the cutting to root? The next time it grows through the fence I may take a snip.

    • @mikbonsai
      @mikbonsai  6 лет назад +1

      Hello Plant Obsessed
      These cuttings are very easy to root. In the past I have removed all the leaves and placed the cuttings in a glass of water out in the garden. I have changed the water every few days to prevent algae from taking over. In 8 to 10 weeks they rooted and I plant them in little pots.
      Good luck with your cuttings. If you are on good terms with your neighbour, why wait ask permission to take a few cuttings.

    Hi Iqbal, i liked the way you sprinkled fertlizer and buried it. I do it too. For trees in development, i never understood, why many bonsai artists stick the fertilizer cakes on top of the soil, in tea bags or tiny plastic net containers. Organic fertilizers need to be broken down by micro organisms and that is far better achieved below the soil surface.

      Hi Vinny, I think I know the reason why, as I have met a lot of these self proclaimed experts. They learned by the book and do things by the book, its tunnel vision and lack of commonsense, which is not so common among these people. Thanks you for the head up on this one.
      Cheers

    Hi Iqbal could please tell what'sthe cat litter is made of because we don't have that brand in Australia

    • @mikbonsai
      @mikbonsai  6 лет назад

      Hi Fred, its made from Clay soil, fired to very high temperatures and the clay turns to little granules and have similar qualities to the Japanese Akadama, which is lava rock. That makes it suitable for planting bonsai in it. I have been using it for over four years now with good results.
      Hope you can find some thing similar in Australia.

    How are the quince cuttings planted? Is the cutting planted in an inverted position and at 45 °?

    • @mikbonsai
      @mikbonsai  5 лет назад

      The cut end down and the thin end up, remove all leaves except a re at the end.

      If you are in the UK then you can get it from Tesco, otherwise you may have to look for some thing similar.
      I hope this helps.

    Great video, do you use chicken pellets on all your trees? And what cat litter do you use? I live in the UK (kent)

    • @mikbonsai
      @mikbonsai  6 лет назад

      Hi Marc, Glad you liked the video., did you see the first four, the link is in he info card at the top right hand side of the screen, showing a number of trees in the first one and there after the progression of each tree. All the trees are treated to Chicken pallets and I also use Chempak 10:10:10 balanced feed and liquid sea weed. In addition for fruiting trees I also treat them with tomato feed. Link for the Cat litter is below, it is only this brand that works:

    Why this S shape? It reminds me of commercial S shape bonsai from shops

    • @mikbonsai
      @mikbonsai  6 лет назад +1

      Hi Radu, it is a very young tree and looked very boring, so decided to give the trunk a little movement. It is actually like a spiral stair case shape and not the "S". I undestand tha in two dimension it may look like and "S".
      Cheers
