In HDFC, if you keep high enough FD balance, a majority of those services are free, which are not available in Govt banks, such as a locker of any desired size. Its credit card also beats anything offered by govt banks.
I needed a debit card with online payment facility in 2010. In govt banks, nobody knew what online payment is. However, Axis Bank issued it in 10 days, and activation took another 2-3 days.
Govt banks are good for lower volume customers, such as students and pensioners

With all such hurdles and limitations mentioned in the video sbi still manages to earn almost equal profit to any private bank..
Just another perspective to lool at the matter
Public sector banks are build with inherited trust of people That drives up the market capitalism.
If sbi were allowed to charge as much as a hdfc or a icici does on every single thing sbi would undoubtedly bring all the private banks at its feet.

Only profitability can't be deciding factor, there are many other things.
You will find financial services in rural area only by psb.
Street vendor, rikshaw man, vegetables seller's and many other lower income group or below avarage income group can avail financial services in public sector bank.
Private sector banks provide services to creamy persons that covers only 30% of indian population.

    • @pearl985
      @pearl985 Год назад

      O
Public sector banks in India have several advantages over private sector banks.
Since these banks are owned and controlled by the government, providing them with a strong and stable backing. This government support ensures that public sector banks are less susceptible to financial instability and bankruptcy, which can instill confidence among customers.
Public sector banks have a social obligation to serve the entire population, including rural and economically weaker sections. They are more focused on financial inclusion and providing banking services to underserved areas, contributing to the overall development of the country.
They often offer lower interest rates on loans and credit facilities compared to private sector banks. This makes borrowing more affordable for individuals, small businesses, and industries, fostering economic growth and development.
Public sector banks have a mandatory requirement to lend a certain percentage of their funds to priority sectors like agriculture, small-scale industries, education, housing, and other sectors of national importance. This ensures that credit is made available to sectors that are vital for the country's development.
They also have a long-standing history and are seen as more stable and trustworthy by the general public. They are often perceived as less prone to risky practices and are subject to stricter regulations and oversight, which can enhance customer confidence.
They typically have a wide network of branches across the country, including remote and rural areas. This extensive presence ensures greater accessibility to banking services for people in various regions, even in areas where private sector banks may not have a strong presence.
Public sector banks provide a significant number of employment opportunities. They are known for offering job security, attractive compensation packages, and various employee welfare schemes. This makes public sector banks an attractive career option for many individuals.
On these parameters the public sector banks far outweigh the private sector banks which cannot be overlooked.

Firstly as a banker i tell you...There is lot of divergence for bussiness in private banks....The prime example is Yes bank....Private bank work more on less on same lines....Violation of kyc norms....Audit norms are more strict in psu banks....Rbi needs to check what policies are being followed by private banks....whether it is working capital finance, Personal finance, to aquire the customer they offer a lower intrest rate but after some period they hike it. If your bussiness starts shaking, immediatly they will putting extra pressure to exit.....

Video is good but opinion is wrong
    Why PSU will outperform
1- good penetration strategy in rural India. I have BOI infront to my home
2- Intelligent people take loan from PSU because they adjust repo and reverse repo woth immediate effect
    3: Charges are very less
4: PSU banks are also providing online banking like SBI etc
Last thing: Price to book ratio - All PSU are trading at low PB ratio while private has alreadyoved so now in future PSU banks will be in focus of FII and DIIs. Recent example is HDFC Bank selling
    Now think wise 😊

Fair comparison …. But in practice no comparison of working as it’s entirely different in both the private and Goverment… and add on that SBI cannot be compared with any bank as all the Goverment funds are with them along with all the schemes tom implement …. So they have luxuries with responsibilities.
