Definitely the happiest song about crystal m@th .
I laughed when Amber said dancing around on a Sunday morning to a song about meth addiction 😂
I have always thought that when I heard this song.
😂 I came here to say the same thing.
Everybody did it. Or they wouldn’t have become as big of a band as they did
🤪🤪🤪
That first 3rd eye blind album is perfect. Every song is a banger.
Check out “Jumper” and “How it’s going to be”
Motorcycle Drive By has been one of my favourite songs for twenty five years.
This album was on repeat all year in 6th grade
Narcolepsy, losing a whole year
Third Eye Blind -( Deep Inside Of You )(How's It Gonna Be)(Jumper)(Never Let You Go)👍
and Company of Strangers
Yes...all 3 should be reacted. Far better than pop junk Semi Charmed.
Wounded
"pop junk" ?? Wow. I'd say Pop Masterpiece - - but Ok. I hear ya.
They really were quite good
Checkout their other hits, Jumper, How's it going to be, graduate, never let you go, motorcycle drive by and many more
ABSOLUTELY! Jumper is a great track for them to experience. They really wrote an entire album with an upbeat sound and the darkest lyrics.
Best one!🎉
@@jasoncaldwell5627 whole damn album is great
Absolutely. That entire album is a banger.
God of wine as well as losing a whole year and wounded are my favorites.
Nasty, dark, depressing lyrics, wrapped in fun, cool, catchy music. One of the best songs of the 90's. A part of me wishes they'd have played the full version, without the edits, but I don't know if they'd have been able to make it through the video with the more explicit lyrics played.
they could they actually used the official video which is sad normally you'd want that
The Chrystal Meth reference is the whole song. Thats what this song is about.
And it's not just that most famous line. For example, it also says: "Then I bumped up. I took the hit that I was given, and I bumped again, and I bumped again." The censored line is the most obvious reference, but yeah, the entire song is about addiction.
@@TheAcademizer and fellatio
@@sj49770 Anding c*ming all over your girlfiend
@TheAcademizer or "she's got her jaws all locked down in a smile, but nothing is alright."
So clueless
now you gotta do Sugar Ray, Matchbox 20, Savage Garden, The Wallflowers. it's outta our hands.
I second this lol
And more No Doubt!! So far, they've only reacted to Don't Speak.
Matchbox 20 push so good
Don't forget Tonic
@@Papa-Kev shame on me. If you could only see the way she loves me, then maybe you could understand. Why i feel this way about our love and what i must do.
Vertical Horizon as well: "Everything you want" "You're a God" "Best I Ever Had"
Love them!
Fantastic band!
Damn, I'd forgot all about them. Good call!
Yes! Yes!!
My freshman year of college was Vertical Horizon
Songs about addiction always seem to be the most upbeat happy sounding songs you will ever hear.
he had some good s=x on it
😂😂😂
Unless it is Alice in Chains
And Candlebox
there she goes the las
All For You- Sister Hazel. J/A another great tune from the mid 90s. Love to see you react to it!
I take it you've never heard their Chasing Daylight album. Sword & Shield has one of the all-time greatest guitar solos. The entire album deserves to be on a top albums of all time list.
Sister Hazel and Vertical Horizon were on tour together and came to my college in 2001, it was a great show.
This whole album is fire, seriously!
Motorcycle Drive By, Jumper, How’s It Going To Be, Losing A Whole Year, Graduate, God Of Wine, Narcolepsy. One of my favorite albums of all time! They are IT
No doubt! I was just going though it again. It’s an alternative rock masterpiece. I’m honestly dumbfounded how they wrote such perfect songs. 14/14 all bangers.
Another Epic 90's monster hit like this one was "Father Of Mine" by Everclear.
P.S.
Everclear's list of big hits is pretty long. A great New Artist for you to check out.
This is one of the best examples of juxtaposition in music, the happiness is absolutely infectious - but when you sit down and pay attention to the song they're talking about drug addicts going through a break up / rough patch in their relationship... there is absolutely nothing happy about this song at all.
I love it.
I've always loved how this is a really dark song about the despair of methamphetamine addiction, but it sounds like something you would hear on Nickelodeon.
The happiest song about drugs i've ever heard!
I dont know, the 70s had a lot
Do you not have access to Buckcherry?
@@mikepaulus4766 No one should have access to Buckcherry
How's It Gonna Be is another great one!
Other 90s bands to check out: Beck - loser, where it’s at, devil’s haircut, new pollution, lost cause, think I’m in love, saw lightning; Queens of the stone age - no one knows, my god is the sun, the way you used to do, the evil has landed, little sister; Everclear - wonderful, I will buy you a new life, am radio, father of mine; Cake - the distance, never there, I will survive, love you madly, short skirt/long jacket, perhaps, perhaps, perhaps; Dandy warhols - bohemian like you, we used to be friends; Modest mouse - float on, lampshades on fire, dashboard, we are between; Muse - supermassive black hole, uprising, madness
Modest mouse- ocean breathes salty is better!
Would love a reaction to AM Radio by Everclear.
Graduate is another Third Eye Blind banger!!!
These guys were so good. Please check out more. “GRADUATE”, Never Let You Go”, “Jumper”, “How’s It Gonna Be”
Third Eye Blind is one of my favorite bands. We see them every year for more then a decade. Summer of gods tour is happening now…definitely recommend going to a concert if possible. Blink 182 and 3eB are the best concerts I’ve been to by far
Epic! Gonna look for tix. I saw them once here at Commodore in Vancouver (great intimate venue). They were amazing!
Awesome band, I’ve seen them several times live and they are just as good live as recorded. This song just gets you bopping along so quickly, I remember I didn’t even know what it was about for who knows how long til a friend told me, lol. Lots of really good songs/albums from this group.
This is 100% quintessential 90s.. Hear it and instantly know what decade its from ha.. Love it
Jumper, how's it gonna be, and never let you go. Third eye blind ruled my childhood.
I wish you would step back from the ledge my friend.
All of these!
One of my first dates with my wife was a Third Eye Blind concert at the Warfield in San Francisco in 2000. Great show. Tonic opened and they were also great. Man I wish I could go back and do it all over again.
Pretty much all of 3rd Eye Blind songs are worth a listen.
The entire album is great...from beginning to end.
God of Wine, Motorcycle Drive By, and Deep Inside of You. Their three best songs.
Working in radio in Vancouver, BC...they came thru on tour for this album...I got to interview the band...they were GREAT!!! Nice guys!!! Made me love the album even more!!!
3EB is the quintessential 90's band. This song is so perfectly done as a bublegum pop song that they didn't even sensor it when it came out because no one listened to the actual lyrics. So brilliant of the band. A very dark song about drug addiction juxtaposed against a bop that will get stuck in your head.
I hope you two visit more 3EB songs, but also re-listen to this one. It's deep.
I just saw Third Eye Blind in concert for the first time on Saturday. They played this as their sending to last song. They have a ton of great songs you guys will love.
One of the best albums of the 90's. Whole thing was fire.
THIS IS pinnacle 90s !!!!! Walking to school with your Walkman
I can smell the vanilla fields perfume and surge soda… *sighs nostalgically*
Their debut album plays like a greatest hits album. The do, do, do, is a nod to Lou Reed’s Walk on the Wild Side.
No doubt! Just seeing the full list again, it’s 14/14 perfect songs.
The line " trying to get back to the place where i fell asleep inside you" is wild man
Jumper by Third Eye Blind
I've been waiting so long for you guys to FINALLY get to Third Eye Blind!!! Please go down that rabbit hole!!!❤❤❤❤
This takes me back to the 90s. I graduated in 1997.
Me too
Me three.🙌
This was played in our high school in the mornings… the rawness of our emotions and the music was crazy. We were allowed to be melancholy all the damn time!
94
Grad 1999 here. But 97 was the best music year of the 90s. Peak! So many insanely good albums and songs from all genres across the board.
this is such a brilliant song lyrically
‘The sky was gold, it was rose
I was takin’ sips of it through my nose’
That’s probably the most descriptive line about doing coke or meth ever.
It was genius, and somewhat disregarded by many as a pop throwaway.
The 90's had such a great variety of music. You should check out a band from Omaha, Nebraska named 311. This group experimented with everything from reggae, funk, metal, and rap. Alternative rock at its finest. Check out their mid-90's hit entitled, "Down." This song blends all their different styles into one. Summer playlist vibes for sure. A bonafide BANGER!!
Check out tiny desk set of 311. Coolest Dad band ever.
@@wilelowmanYup, the band did a great job with that set. So much fun to watch that! 💯✌️
Been requesting 311 for a while from them. Gotta do Down, Amber, All Mixed Up, Beautiful Disaster just to start
I've been trying to get them to get to them by asking for their song Amber for obvious reasons
CAKE is the next band to listen to. Anything from them,💗💗
I've lost count of how many times I suggested CAKE. "The Distance" - "Short Skirt Long Jacket" - "Never There"
It’s been said many times…the 90s were peak humanity!
Third eye blind, this album is full of amazing songs, hits and deep cuts that should be hits.
Next up!
- Jumper
- Losing A Whole Year
- How’s It Going To Be
- Graduate
- The Background
Actually looking at the full album again, there’s literally no misses. It’s an alternative rock masterpiece.
This song was one of the best songs of the 90s. Almost a perfect song.
This is one of those epic pop songs that SOUNDS happy and light, but the lyrics are serious and dark. A dichotomy like that always makes for interesting listening.
Such a good band. “How’s It Gonna Be” is by far my fave. Love “Graduate”, too - hard hitting.
Third eye blind "I'll Never Let You Go" is my favorite ❤ It was my BFF and I favorite song back in the day.
Losing a whole year, my favorite!!!!
This whole album is a straight-up banger!! "Motorcycle Drive-By" is my favorite.
Wow, that song is the most U2 song that U2 never created!
@@monkeysuncle2816 ok....
It really is. I just listened to it and checking the full song list again. 14 out of 14 all perfect songs. No misses. One full hour of pure rock bliss.
Another good one from 1990-1991 is “Unbelievable“ By the group, EMF. My youngest was born in 91 and it was on the radio all the time then 😁
I agree it was on the radio a lot
I’m sorry that song is terrible.
@@fgav2 Thank you. I’ll change my opinion immediately 🤣
I love this song, it always reminds me of the American Pie movie series, which takes me back to the end of Highschool and college days, man I miss these times
Honestly this is one of the best rock songs, on one of the best rock albums of the entire 90s. This entire album is bangers! Love Third Eye Blind.
A 90s masterpiece that was my favorite song for a long time. Have to sing along every time. Sure it's dark, but that is what elevates it.
Ambers Okie accent is especially prominent in the title of this song. Its lovely.
Classic 90s rock hit with an incredible rift
That ENTIRE album ought to be gold for you two.... :-)
The real question is if the Rob Squad can actually figure out what the song is about by the end 😂
🤣
I doubt it
With this edited version it took me years to find out
it's about semi charmed life and staying up all night, what else you think?
,,, 😅😅😅😅😅@@jackschleich9475
One of my fav 90s bands ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
This song is nothing but good memories of the 90s
My daughter has Cystic Fibrosis (CF) so she was able to do a Make-A-Wish wish. So last year her wish was to go to LA and record one of her original songs (she’s a singer song writer) in a professional recording studio. The foundation hooked her up with a 3 day trip to LA and top pros in a studio where MANY huge stars recorded along with pro musicians and engineers to produce it all. Anyway, the bass player they got to work with her was from Third Eye Blind. He was super cool, chill, really nice and of course lots of stories to tell.
Wow! What a beautiful story and memory for all time.
One of the catchiest songs of the nineties. Great choice for a reaction
One of my favourite bands of ALL TIME ❤❤❤
Jumper is my fav from Third Eye Blind!
Ya'll got me feeling like a kid again with this jam. One of the most ironic songs with dark lyrics combined with a feel-good tone.
Classic.. back then when I first heard this, it reminded me of "Two Princes" by Spin Doctors.
Been a 3EB fan from day one!! I feel they don't get the recognition they deserve - they were a huge part of my late teen years and this album spoke to me on so many levels!! Please consider their song "MOTORCYCLE DRIVE BY" while it wasn't released as a single, it's a beautiful song that Stephan truly releases pure emotions through his voice and lyrics. It makes me cry to this day!! Another song to check out is "HOW'S IT GOING TO BE" and "NEVER LET YOU GO" - - - Was lucky to see them live a few times and hope you continue to revisit this underrated band in the future! Keep smiling y'all - much love!!
100%! They don’t get the recognition. This album is honestly one the best alternative rock albums of all time. Cover to cover it’s perfect.
Third Eye Blind has several bangers. Another similar band Collective Soul has a banger called "Heavy". You've got to check that one out.
I hadn't thought of this song in a long time, even though I have the CD around here somewhere. Conjures up some very specific memories...that I'll not reveal here. Jumper and Losing A Whole Year are my other favorites from that album.
"How's It Gonna Be" is a gem!
The sky was gold; it was rose. I was taking sips of it to my nose and I wish I could get back there.
Yes, this 90s band are EPIC, seen them live, they have really great songs ♥️👍🤗. Thanks for sharing
Jay, I saw you trying to figure out what was happening when one of the lyrics was muffled. The radio edit obscured the lyric: crystal meth. Semi-Charmed Life is about a crystal meth addiction and transition periods in one's life.
The verse in its entirety is as follows:
The sky it was gold, it was rose,
I was taking sips of it through my nose,
And I wish I could get back there,
Some place back there,
Smiling in the pictures you would take,
Doing crystal myth,
Will lift you up until you break,
It won't stop,
I won't come down, I keep stock,
With a tick tock rhythm a bump for the drop,
And then I bumped up. I took the hit I was given,
And I bumped again,
And I bumped again.
How do I get back there to,
The place where I fell asleep inside you?
How do I get myself back to,
The place where you said,
I want something else to get me through this,
semi-charmed kind of life baby, baby,
I want something else,
I'm not listening when you say, good-bye,
Omg, this was my favorite song back in the 90s, and still love it. There are so many memories... reminds me of moving to NYC when life was so good, this song was so popular. Me and my roommates would blast this while cleaning or just to cheer us up! I wish i could go back in time. Love this song so much! 💕🎵✨️🥰
This album was the soundtrack of my late teenage years. Such a great album, no filler tracks. Still one of my favorite albums of all time.
criminally underrated band
Great reaction guys. This band has much more to offer. Next time you choose to dig into in their discography here are a few recommendations: “Jumper”, “Never Let You Go” & “How’s it Gonna Be”.
90s was the best decade for music (the 60s can fight me)!
Jumper!!! And “ How’s It Gonna Be” will break your heart
They liked these lyrics:
All right, When the plane came in,
She said she was crashing,
The velvet it rips,
In the city we tripped,
On the urge to feel alive,
But now I'm struggling to survive,
Those days you were wearing,
That velvet dress,
You're the priestess,
I must confess,
Those little red panties,
They pass the test,
Slide up around the belly,
Face down on the mattress,
This is definitely one of songs that defines the 90's.
One of the VERY few songs of the genre tht I actually like.
bands like this, and Matchbox Twenty were what came out of grunge and that whole period of music is my high school, between the alternative and then the R&B, Counting Crows all of it, event the one hit wonders bring me back, thank you for giving this music your time.
I love these happy Chrystal Meth songs that edit the out certain parts of the song.
“I took the hit I was given,
And I bumped again,
And I bumped again.”
Omggggggggggg this brought me right back to 6th grade!! This was the song of the year!
YES!!!! So many Great songs! Great Band! Still touring nationwide!
Yeppers I’ve seen them with my pops
How's It Gonna Be is awesome by Third Eye Blind
you guys are one of the only reactions i watch. You are both so open to all music, happy and engage with us.I feel like i know you,lol THANKS FOR THE FLOWERS TOO OUR BANDS AROUND THE WORLD"""
Need more of this group, you’ll find out they’re great.
You also have to hear Jumper by them.
One of the many great bands from the Bay Area. This whole album is a vibe too. No skips necessary!
One of the Anthems of the 90’s
I remember in the 90's when I first heard this, one of my buddies, while listening at the same time, said, "oh yeah, this is the "doo-doo-doo"song. Good times.
One of the great radio songs of the last 30 years, really surprised these guys hadn't heard it. I'm 6-7 years older than them I think and had heard it dozens of times at least by the time I was in my teens without seeking it out
The bounce of this song is undeniable. Love them so much!
Love this song, brings me back to 1997 in 6th/7th grade and how I knew what the song was about while most people didn’t and they just thought it was a happy pop rock song
Also I think this song was in, like 100 movies/soundtracks!! One of the greatest songs from the 90's!❤ Thanks!!❤❤
Third Eye Blind is a great band! "How's It Gonna Be" is another hit to listen to. Check out the band HUM and their song "Stars" . Definitely worth the listen!
Check out “The Background.” Never released as a single, but very poignant. I love it, because I lived it with my fiancée who never escaped his addiction. RIP Sean.
Oh yes! One of my favourites. It’s a deep cut, but is a good as any single. So sorry for your loss. That song is so amazing, and beautiful, I could see it being a wave of emotions.
This song brings back some great memories.
Don't forget Parliament, "Aqua Boogie" baby!
