I remember the first time Jagjit and Chitra Singh came to Pakistan in the late 70s, They had a show in the Intercontinental Hotel, EMI released a set of 5 cassettes, I had the collection until I left for the states around 15 yrs ago.
What a beautiful composition it was ! How soulfully did the great Jagjit Singh Saab perform it ! Here, in this ghazal, it was as if the beautiful Labz of the shayar had found life in the majestic voice of the great Jagjit Singh Saab ! Hat's off to him for this calendar offering ! The channel operator deserves credit for uploading this beautiful treat ! --Amarendra Borah, Former Commissioner and Secretary, Finance Department, Govt Of Assam (India).
I m hearing this rarest collection after 11 years. The only tape was with me in my circle and they claimed me collecter sahab due to this.and one day it lost while i was traveling . I m very thankful to you for this great effort to upload it here. now i can hear it evrywhere any time.
A very very rare and beautiful ghazal. Thank you for up-loading. Jagjit Singh is not among us but his melodious voice is ever lasting. Hats Off, Awesome.

Wonderful. Thanks for sharing. Reading through the comments(including, but not limited to, those on this video), I am surprised at how many people lose collections of rare ghazals. Please be careful people! We all make mistakes though, so no point beating yourself over it. In case anyone else has rare collections, please please upload them to youtube so that others can enjoy them too.
I have heard lot of him in Mumbai. No doubt he is indisputably a great gem but must say that all of these old gems of his, I have never experienced in his latest concerts in Mumbai. This seems to be more conventional, heart touching sung by man of soul with conviction. So much so that I have started hunting for all his earlier treasures. Will be obliged for more of it. That gives me feeling, of late was Jagjit singhji was just more commercial, or he just played to the gallery. My sincere apologies please correct me. Coz I used to follow him like mad after listening to one of his concerts at Rangbhavan in Mumbai.
True. I felt this change in his cassattes coming out in early 90s. The music became synthesized and the ghazals lost originality of music not voice. The music sort of took over his voice. In this ghazal, he leads and the music follows. It was not that way later.
hey man just wondering if you can post rest of the song from this concert please. there are some more beautiful song on this album. i had the album on tape but i lost it about 8yrs ago.

Wah
Public commitment is no right always.
Wah.......
The 52 who disliked this are made of plastic, who, have no conscience and soul.
Rind nice ghazal.
Ghar Se Hum Nikle The, Masjid Ki Taraf Jaaney Ko
Rind Behkake Hame Le Gaye Meykhaane Ko
Rind is drunkard
Yeh Zabaan Chalti Hai Na Se, Ke Churi Chalti Hai,
Zeba Karne Mujhe Aya Hai, Ke Samjhane Ko,
Zeba is sacrifice
Aaj Kuch Aur Bhi Pi Lu, Ke Suna Hai Maine,
Aate Hai Hazrat - E - Waiz, Mere Samjhaane Ko,
Hazrat - E - Waiz means the great preacher
Hat Gayi Ariz - E - Roshan Se, Tumhare Jo Nakab,
Raat Bhar Shama Se, Nafrat Rahi Dewane Ko
Aariz-e-naqab means the 'respectable' mask (fake impression)
