    I've been really enjoying your videos lately, and I'm excited to give it a try myself. If you ever run out of tutorial material, I'd totally just watch a time-lapse of you creating too! Fantastic work

    Love your videos 💜 I’ve been trying to “self teach” for a long time now (years) and always felt weird about going to RUclips for things that are traditionally passed through experience of elders/tribe members. Your videos have made me feel comfortable with what I am learning and your thorough yet concise explanations of what you are using and doing in each video is perfect for someone like me who is so new to beading. I don’t mean to offend anyone by anything I’m saying but if anyone is familiar with old school traditional elders, it’s always been a “you have to be there to learn it” type of situation and it isn’t a bad thing but is sometimes not possible for people who have been torn from their families. Thank you Melissa! 🥰

      Yes, I was raised this way. There are things I won't share because they are teachings that I made offers for. And they are not my teachings to pass on to just anyone. Only my kids. So, with that said I'll only show what I was self taught using only the contemporary designs that use 😊

    Hi there I am a big fan of your videos. Not only are they helpful, they help inspire and refresh my memory on somethings I may have forgotten over the years. I especially love this video using the graphics to help show where each placement of a color bead is place. Thank you for sharing your talent and designs with us! Awesome video!!!

    Also you can buy delicas from Fire Mountain Gems they have a lot and you get discount pricing when you get 15 items or more in your shopping cart. They also carry a pretty fair amount of 15’s as well..

    What is the difference with peyote stitching with or without the pellon around the hoop?

    • @MelissaChilcotinChar
      @MelissaChilcotinChar 2 года назад

      The pellon gives your beads something to grip while you bead around the hoop. Without it, the beads move a little more up and down the hoop while you bead.

    I have done this pattern and was easy to do. I done this on a rope instead and used size 8/0 seed beads, I find using the size 11/0 for a rope way too small.

    • @MelissaChilcotinChar
      @MelissaChilcotinChar 3 года назад

      Yes, working with bigger beads is best when start out, this way you see where the beads lay and you can get projects done faster. ❤️ It's always satisfying to see completed work 😊

      There's no full picture of the design but, if you follow the tutorial bead for bead you'll get the exact same design in this video. And I do not have any other patterns drawn out for hoops because all the ideas come from my head. It's a lot of trial and error. That's the beauty of art. Try something you think you might like 🤷🏽‍♀️

    Can this be done with 5 beads?

    • @MelissaChilcotinChar
      @MelissaChilcotinChar 2 года назад

      On a thin hoop, possibly. But, less beads show more thread. I say 7 or 9 beads makes a good diameter and opens up for more designs ❤️

  • @susantaylornelson8913

    Why is the peylon necessary?

    • @MelissaChilcotinChar
      @MelissaChilcotinChar 2 года назад

      It isn't. You can bead with or without. I wanted to show, how I started and why/when I use pellon. It's a buffer for your beads to grip, or to increase the diameter so, you can put more beads around ☺️

      The rows are numbered and the (icon) is each bead she has beaded. It’s always 7 (recommended#) across. The 3rd bead is where you enter the next color on the next or 2nd row.
