I need to learn how to do this myself. What's the cheapest way to gitgud before I get to your level? Better question, how did you start doing stuff like this?
If you are new to sculpting, I would recommend starting with a character that has a simple design. Choose a subject that has a very simple shape, the first figurine I made in polymer clay was a Korok (from the legend of zelda). I usually print a reference sheet with pictures of the character from different angles, and try to match the shape the clay as closely as I can to the pictures. It mostly just takes a lot of time and a lot of patience!
@@Wickellethanks for the reply. Appreciate it. Could you recommend any products for a newcomer that'll probably make too many mistakes? Cheapest thing from amazon would do or is a decent polymer clay needed?
The clay brand I'm using is Sculpey, it is more on the expensive side, but it works really well! I like the Super Sculpey Original that comes in a 1Lb pack. I can make a few figurines with it before I run out. I have seen other people use brands like Fimo and Cernit, but I have never tried them tho. Maybe try looking up videos comparing polymer clay brands, it could help choose what option would work best for you. The great thing with polymer clay is that it won't harden until you bake it, so if you are not satisfied with your sculpture you can just take the clay off and start over. Also, if it fits with your budget, I would suggest getting a set of various sculpting tool, the ones with the silicones tips work great with polymer clay. I don't have a particular amazon product to recommend, because I got mine from my local art store. Make sure to get either plastic or metal one, I find that when I tried using my wooden tools, the clay sorta sticks to the wood and it's hard to clean the clay residue afterwards. Hope this helps! :)

@@Wickelle please 🙏
What colours did you use for the wooden part on voltorb?
I used beige as the base colour and for the wood texture lines I mixed that same beige with a bit brown to make it darker.
@@Wickelle thanks
What clay do you use?
@Aidan I used super sculpey original
