MALAYSIAN BORNEO FIRST IMPRESSIONS! (we couldn't believe this place!!!) 📍: Kota Kinabalu, Sabah 🇲🇾

- We didn't know what to expect from Malaysian Borneo, but for sure we didn't know it would be like this! Kota Kinabalu was a surprise. It's hard to explain this place, but you'll see exactly what we mean after watching the video.
We hope you enjoy this Kota Kinabalu, Sabah video :) And this is just the beginning of our adventures in Malaysian Borneo! We can't wait to share more with you!
★ MORE INFO ABOUT THE FOUR-ISLAND TOUR:
1. What we did: we went to the Sutera Marina and basically talked to the only operator in the marina. They have all the tours and prices displayed, and even though it was slightly more expensive than other options, it was pretty painless and we had a great experience! We recommend this option :)
2. Another option (this was plan B for us): Go to Jesselton Point Jetty and try to negotiate a price. It will be cheaper than what we paid ($15 p/p), but there will be A LOT of different operators to choose from. This info was shared to us by a local and also from the guy at the beginning of the video.
In the end, we decided it was ok to pay a higher price because we were already there and it was the right choice for us :) but there are other options.
Anyways, if you have questions, let us know. We're always happy to help. Thank you so much for watching our videos. We will see you in the next video from Kundasang 🇲🇾

One of the most memorable stops of our entire Malaysia adventure! Thanks for watching guys ❤🇲🇾
did you go to the hot spring pool at ranau hot spring?
You guys, we didn't even do justice to these beaches. We wish we would have had more time to see more of these beautiful islands. IT WAS PARADISE! 😍
As a Sabahan, I'm glad that you guys enjoy my home town..
We really did ❤️ One of our favorite sunsets!
@@waysoftheworld_thats must be tg.aru.. but you know.. there also a nice sunset view at sutera habour and there been no many people there..😍
Thank you for visiting Malaysia and sharing our culture and food with the world. I hope that you both enjoy and will bring back fond memories during your time in Malaysia. You two are a beautiful couple😍❤
We can't even begin to describe how much Malaysia means to us ❤️ Thanks so much for the kind words ✨ We can't wait to come back!! 🇲🇾
Crazy introduction to Sabah & Malaysian Borneo.... totally not what we expected!!! Such a fun city to explore 😎
I love to see how you both respect the culture and religion while visiting the floating mosque and just enjoying the place and environment. Not to mention, you guys both look cute in those clothing as well! Welcome to Sabah! :D
Thanks so much! We love learning about other cultures, and of course it's important to respect ❤️ It was such a great experience and thanks for the compliment! We felt pretty good actually 🥰
Why I like holidaying in Borneo islands and mountains is that everyone is friendly and there's no one who hard sells anything. I prefer less stressful traveling. Everyone's chill and lovely.
That's exactly how it is... a very peaceful, beautiful and special place! ❤️
We do not disturb tourists. Not our culture. Touts or hard selling is the sign of poor countries.
Beautiful kK in sabha
Coffee!! Thanks for the shoutout guys. I love how you picked up a massive mug of coffee 🥳 Noodles for breakfast...love it. And that sunset was so wonderful. GJ
Welcome to Borneo and I hope you guys enjoy the northern part of borneo. Yes in certain places the dress code is strict especially if you are at the place of worship like a Mosque. I love the part that you wearing the thawb and abaya together with kufi and hijab. Do visit southern region of borneo in Kuching if you guys have a time 😉
Thanks so much!!! We felt pretty good with our new looks :)
Hi guys😉
Thanks you very much visiting Malaysian
And sharing our culture&food with all world.i hope you all enjoy...
Sweet couple hijab🧕👳
Take care guys..🙂✌️
Hello :)
@@waysoftheworld_ 🥰🌹
"Have a nice day
Take care mr&Mrs👩❤️👨
Welcome to Sabah, the gem of Malaysia 🇲🇾..Liked this video, u guys really explored local cultures n experiencing the locals vibes, bagus 👍
We want to go back and see more already. Sabah is STUNNING 🥰
when you guys in Sabah, u guys should try out the Chicken Wings.. definitely the best Chicken Wings that you can get here in Malaysia
hahaha really?? We didn't know that!! 😳 Thanks for sharing :)
Great Content. Must Visit Mari Mari Cultural Village to experience the 5 main tribes of Sabah's Culture and traditional activities.
Oh wow that sounds amazing!! Thanks so much for sending us recs :) We are taking note of this for next time. We do have to be back. There's so much to see and learn in Malaysia 😍
Wow, I'm feeling so honored as a Muslim person to see your review and perception about our Malaysian. Thanks for both of you may god blessing both of you with gold, prosperous, good health and happiness 🙏🙏🙏
Aww thanks so much for the kind words! We always love learning about new cultures and everyone in Malaysia made us feel so welcomed. It was very special ❤️ And thanks for the well wishes 🙏🏼 We wish the same for you ✨
This is about the natural beauty of Sabah.
What does visiting Sabah have anything to do with your religion /being a Muslim????
Kadazans are generally Catholics by the way .
1:10 The boat fare from Sutera Harbour Marina Jetty is more expensive as it is located in a posh and upscale area 😁 The boat operator here offers an exceptional standard of service and they have better boats.
The less expensive alternative would be to take a boat from Jesselton Point Ferry Terminal. There are many boat operators there offering fares at competitive prices, more options to choose from.
Welcome to Sabah 🥰🎉
hahaha yes, we figured we payed a premium considering where we were, but it was a very nice experience! :) Thanks so much for sharing this info. I'm sure other tourists will find it useful 🙏🏼 PS: we loved Sabah! 😍
@Ways of the World be careful in other departure point one tourist met refugees at the other jetty at kk. She did not know and negotiated rm 600 to travel to the islands near kk. Not an authorised departure point. It was recorded on the vlog. These filipino refugees or sea gypsies do not have permits to go to these islands in the first place !!!. They are fishermen. Tourists cannot differentiate a local sabahan and sea gypsies but we can. You did the right thing.
A big thanks and appreciation for visiting Sabah Borneo. As a local Sabahan, I wish you both a memorable pleasant experience during your visit here.
Thank you so much! We had a blast and cannot wait to be back 🥰
It's been a while that i've been there..yeah,sabah got so many beautiful island and places. I wish i can go back there soon. We're welcome you guys to come back next time and go travel to other part of Sabah. Aramai tii 😁
Thanks so much!!! Gosh those beaches were definitely paradise 🥰 We hope you get to go back soon ❤️ (and we hope to go back soon too!)
You look exactly like a local Sabahan with that hijab. Seriously! 😄
hahaha thank you :) I felt pretty good!!! 😊
Another town you guys must visit is Kota Belud, home of the Bajau tribe, aka "the cowboys of the east." You also get to enjoy the best & full view of Mt Kinabalu from here. Enjoy the rest of your stay in Sabah! TQ for appreciating our part of Borneo 🙌😊
Thanks so much for sending us recs!! We have to go back to Borneo. We didn't give ourselves enough time there 🙈
Im loving the Malaysia videos. Im going to KL, Penang, KK and Sepilok in 20 days giving me some great ideas for my trip.

Hi Aimara & G, nice video and thank you for showing us around in KK Sabah .. Sabah is one of underrated places in Malaysia, a hidden gem that need to explore and tbh it has alot nice things to offer. On the other hands, it was so lovely seeing you guys blend with the locals and do own exploration to non-touristy places. Keep it up 👍🏻 Cuz Malaysia 🇲🇾 love u guys to bits ❤❤

Hello, you have a great you tube channel, for the next country to visit Pakistan, like the cities of Lahore, Islamabad, karachi, Peshawar, or the Hunza valley….
With great hospitality, beautiful places to visit, multicultural and very good food. Thank you

Aaahh.... I love how this video ended with sunset. Nothing soothes the soul like a sunset on the beach.
Thank you! That sunset was so special. There was something about it ❤️
Yes Aimara looks like Malaysian's `CHINDIAN' (Reference to mix children of Chinese & Indian marriage) You both looks good on that covered attire and Aimara looks cute wearing hijab😍Sunny day, beautiful Island & stunning sunset! Happy exploring guys!

Guys when you in Kota Kinabalu...try the noodle soup Sabahan called it " NGAU CHAP"...beef noodle soup
Oh we missed it 🙈 next time! Thanks so much for sending recs :)
Luv your vlog so much especially towards the end the slow mo plus music n description made me cry
Awww thanks ❤️ It was very special to us, we felt very grateful to be there. We try to portray our feelings when we're editing the videos... happy to hear you liked it and felt it too 🥰
The boat fare actually is quite expensive. You can get to Mamutik Island at a much lower rate if you take it from the Jesselton Jetty.
Yea that's what we learned haha! The marina we left from was walking distance from our apartment, so it was a little more convenient to figure out on that day. And the service was really good :)
Thanks visiting my state.
Our pleasure!! ❤️
Hi, I loved your videos. I will be visiting KK and Kundasang in a month. The Airbnb you showed in this video looks awesome. Could you please share the name of your accommodation in Kota Kinabalu?
Hi :) Thanks so much for watching! Of course, here's the link: www.airbnb.com/rooms/739563491410478275?guests=1&adults=1&s=67&unique_share_id=1d4333eb-98d0-4bfa-8f49-bacba9f119e4 safe travels! 🙏🏼
Most of the dishes in Sabah are not spicy. So you need to ask for cut chilli, chilli sauce, or ask them to add more chilli in their cooking. We Malaysian go to KK mostly for seafood.
Yes, we learned that early on! That's what everyone said about the seafood, but we don't eat seafood 🙈 Still, the food was really good too!
I'm thinking of going to Borneo next year. Thanks for the vlog. It gives me some ideas. Did you need to buy the clothes before entering the mosque or did they supply them?
Borneo was amazing!! We can't wait to be back and see more of it. And don't worry about the clothes. They give them to you before entering for a small fee ;) Good luck planning your trip 🙏🏼
Very humble couple..welcome to Borneo..
Hi! Thanks so much :) We had a great time in Borneo 🥰
Great video! Love your editing style - slomo, timelapse and all! You’ve got yourself a new subscriber here! Welcome to Malaysia guys!
Hi! Thanks so much. Welcome to the WOTW fam :) We love Malaysia so much. We already left and are looking into when to go back and see more of it already 🥰
If you booking with local agency you can get 30$ per pax for 3 island with lunch and a bottle water
not bad :)
If you love the islands in Kota Kinabalu, you should try the Islands in Semporna.. especially mabul and Bohey Dulang.
I hope you are also planning to go to Kundasang..
We went to Mabul! Such a fascinating little island, and we got to do some of the best scuba diving we've done in our lives :) you will see us Kundasang soon, too!
@@waysoftheworld_ cool..
I am really impressed both of you wearing the Muslim without much fuss and I like to say both of you look stunning . Do enjoy your visit to Sabah . There is so much more place to explore in Malaysia
Of course! We respect other cultures :) The way we see it, is that if we're going somewhere where they have different rules or beliefs, we have to respect it and embrace it. And actually, we felt pretty good :) And yes, we had a great time in Sabah! We have to go back to Malaysia to see more of it 😍
Please go to sipadan mabul mataking semporna sabah borneo malaysia..!!😍😘😘😄❤

Haha thanks! I thought so, as well 😎
Wonderful kk sunset. One of the best in the world after Greece.
It was an amazing sunset and the people being there hanging out and happy made it so much better ❤️
@Ways of the World another place in Malaysia is langkawi. But for an awesome sunrise, gotta be mount kinabalu summit at 4095m. South east Asia's highest peak. And 3rd highest island peak in this world.
1. Irian jaya or Papua. Location : Oceania, south pacific
2. Hawaii island, mauna kea
3. North borneo, Mount kinabalu
I think there is another jetty to do island hopping further up Filipino market and cheaper
Yea you are correct. We didn't know the jetty closer to our Airbnb would be more expensive. But at least the service was very friendly and professional 😎
Visiting them thiss year, thank youuu
Amazing! Safe travels ❤️
Welcome to my hometown❤.. if u enjoy nature, u may try hiking on the way to your journey to kundasang... There is a hiking place called muruq turuq eko tourism.. you will enjoy seeing 7 enchanting waterfalls in the same areas.. it only takes your half days of journey to hike at muruq turuq.. or you may try going hiking at kundasang if you like too.. enjoy and have fun in Sabah.

Manukan Island and Sapi Island are also good for visitors to visit, more popular than Mamutik Island

Welcome to KK and enjoy yourselves.❤
Thanks so much!! Mamutik is STUNNING! We wish we were allowed to fly the drone lol but still, we could not get enough of its beauty ❤️
No, u dont need to change to any clothes to enter a mosque. 99% West Malaysians wont visit Borneo because nothing special than West Malaysia and due to cost preference, better to visit other neigbouring countries. The West Malaysians who goes there are due to related people there.
We went to several mosques all over Malaysia and we had to change clothes every time ;) (it's not a big deal to us) And of course, most people are free to travel wherever they want and we thought Borneo was well worth it ✌🏼
@@waysoftheworld_ Is it Sabah mosque only treated you must change clothes? All the other races who visited mosques never need to change into different clothes in Malaysia. Its not required in Islam laws. They should not let you wear the white Songkok too because its only for Muslims who had performed the pilgrimage to Mecca.
Hey guys I live in KK! Welcome to Sabah! Loving that you are enjoying yourselves here, do take care and have funnn!

There were many kidnapping cases there by the Phillipines militants
