I have the Z24-120 and use it on both the Zf and my Z7 II. A phenomenal lens for hiking with one lens and also for when I am in "Dad videography" mode at kid's performances.
Ray, you are making remarkable progress. I missed your last video but the difference in your enunciation of words is apparent. Keep up the good work. To me, it’s apparent you are staying positive and are in good spirits. Keeps pushing. You have beaten everything that has been thrown at you in the past and you can beat this as well. I continue to keep you in my daily prayers. On a photographic note, I do have the Nikkor 24-120mm f/4 lens. Terrific! I use it on both my Z8 and Zf. It has become one of my favorite lenses. It is so much more versatile than a 24-70 and the difference in maximum aperture is not an issue for me. Merry Christmas and I hope next year is your best ever!
Yes I’d love a review of that bag, Ray. Thanks for sharing so much of your story in this vlog. Sorry you have gone through so much, glad that you are here to tell us about it. I don’t have any awesome smoothie recipes but lately I’ve been making a light version of bulletproof coffee with a teaspoon or two of unsalted butter and milk, blended up: not sure if you like (or are allowed) coffee but I find it to be a nice hot morning drink. Merry Christmas 🎄 to you and your family
My favourite combo...this is what is what I'm using 95% of the time lately, my Z6III & 24-120 f/4.0 S. I love this camera and the quality and versatility of this lens is amazing. Also considering what you've been through, I think you're sounding pretty darn good dude...speedy recovery and Happy Holidays! 📷😎
Hi Ray, wishing you and your family a very happy, healthy, and peaceful Christmas and New Year. Your resilience and creativity continue to inspire so many, and I look forward to enjoying your content in 2025. However, please remember to prioritize your health and well-being, you’ve been through so much, and taking care of yourself is the greatest gift you can give to those who care about you. Sending you all my best wishes for the festive season and beyond! Warm regards, Warren
I have been using Nikon gear for 25 years and have loved the quality and handling. I will be a Nikon person forever. Wishing you a fast recovery and hope you have a great holiday!
Thank you for your inspirational videos, Ray. I had cancer a few years ago and the thing that helped me get through it the most was my photography hobby. It is still the thing today that gets me out of the house, as I hope it is for you as well. The 24-120mm is indeed a super lens and I do love to use mine on my Z6iii or Z9. As for your speech, I think it has improved already, so your speech therapy is working well! Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and holiday season with many good things in store for you in 2025.
Thanks so much and merry Christmas to you. I hope you're fully recovered. Yes, photography is my meditation and there's nothing like losing oneself in the moment to melt away everything else. Glad to hear you say my speech has improved. As I say in this video, making these helps me concentrate on improving.
Yes Ray, I have the same combination of Z6III and 24-120. I love it, the image quality is great and it's quite versatile. Thanks for sharing what you are going through. Wishing you the best over this holiday season and renewed health in 2025.
Blessings to you and your family this holiday season, Ray. This was a wonderful video and update. Thank you for delving into the details of what you have been dealing with . Us medical types find it interesting and helpful, and I for one didn't want to ask. I have absolutely no problem understanding your speech. You are doing great. I don't have the 24-120, although, but if I didn't already have a shelf full of others covering that range, I would get it for sure. With my Z8, I DX my 24-70 when needed, and it does the job. Stay well, my Island friend. Hope to travel there again in March. I need a dose of ocean air, and all the wonderfulness it brings.
Cheers and best wishes for the holidays! I'm so happy that this video is helpful and that "medical types" as well as other sufferers, both former and present, can take something useful from it too. That's my hope. Glad to hear you're planning an island escape. Sometimes I escape from the Island, as seen in this video! 😁
Thank you for the update, Ray. Keep working on your speech - not too difficult to follow you but I do need to concentrate - which is no bad thing! I can't believe I have collected the 14-30, 24-120,100-400 and most recently the 600 6.3. All S line lenses and I love them with my Z9 and just picked up a used Z6 as a travel and walkabout camera. Wishing you a lovely Christmas from the Cotswolds. After watching your video I may try liquidising a christmas pudding - hope you will too.
Hi Ray. Thanks for sharing your health experiences. Despite the significant impact to your speech, I can understand what you are saying pretty well. I value your information about Nikon photography and videography and hope you continue to make videos. Also I’ll start checking your web site for content. I am often willing to read reviews as well. Praying for your thorough and speedy recovery.
Hi Greg. Happy to hear you can understand my speech and glad you're enjoying my work. Please do visit my website; it gets lonely since I turned my attention to RUclips. Still, I think there's some valuable content there too and plan a site update in 2025.
Great to see you, Ray! When I switched to mirrorless with the launch of the Z9, decided to get the 24-120mm f/4.0 instead of the 24-70mm f/2.8. Use it for the majority of my event and fashion work. No worries using it at f/4.0. For many shoots, I can avoid bring out the heavy 70-200mm f/2.8 or simply don’t need to swap lenses on location. For travel, with the Z7ii until I traded it for the Z6iii for video. Wishing you a speedy recovery and a restful holiday season!
I understand You quite well :) :) I have been with You for a long time !!!! Please keep up the Great Videos !!!!! Please keep up the Fight to stay healthy !!! When I bought My Z5 (6mos after it came out) I bought a 24mm n 85mm (both Nikkor Z) soon after I got the 24-200mm n 14-30mm...... The 24-200mm nearly stayed on all of the time except for dedicated portrait sittings.... I later bought the 24-120mm and it is on My Z6III nearly all of the time !!!! I recently came back from Lisbon, Porto, n Paris (34days total) (hundreds of GIGS) The Nikon Z7 n 24-200mm were a great combo (My Wife n I would leave at about 8am n return betw. 10pm - 2am) What I shot was amazing I allowed auto ISO up to 24,000 !!!!!!!! The results were Awesome :) :) :)
Thanks for the feedback! It was satisfying to see that the auto-generated RUclips captions understood most of what I said. As expected, it was challenged most by words that contained those pesky "K" and "G" sounds.
Happy Holidays, Mr. Parker. Keep on keeping on! I took the 24-120mm f4 on travels to Paris, Amsterdam and NYC, through 23-24, and paired it with my Z7II or my Zf. It excelled in all uses. Only time I pulled out primes was in the evenings.
Great to see you are getting better and better. The 24-120 f/4S was the first lens I bought with the Z9. Although now I use practically 100% of the time the 180-600 zoom for bird photography. I wish I could go back to beautiful BC, so much amazing photos to take. Thanks for sharing and have great hollidays.
loving your videos , just stumbled on your channel a couple of days ago as i am looking at buying the z6iii , hope that you are recovering well , you sound english at the moment
I am! Born and bred, though Canadianized in terms of my accent. And my wife's English accent (posher than my original Black Country brogue) has an influence too. Maybe this surgery has reawakened my native tongue! 😀 Welcome aboard!
@@RaymondParkerPhoto didn't know you were a black country native! I have lived in the West Midlands for many years now. I can tell you that post-op you are still WAY easier to understand than my car mechanic 😄

Thanks Ray, Very enjoyable video. My kids have the 24-120 on the front of their Zf’s. It’s a wonderful lens. Merry Christmas Ray. Always great to see your videos land on my feed. Take care, Joseph
I own the camera and am thinking about the lens. I found your vblog by accident today and hope you continue both your vblogs and your recovery. Have a great Christmas.
I bought the 24-120mm earlier this year, mainly for travelling. The 24-70mm f4 was great but a bit limiting on the tele end, so traded it in. Had a month long holiday in UK and The Balkans in October and it is fabulous - a little bit heavier but worth the extra weight. Used the IBIS on my Z6II for waterfalls in Plitvice Lakes at 1/10 second hand held. Might be worth upgrading to the III for a couple more stops? I don’t like packing a tripod on our travels - prefer to go with just cabin bags. Great to hear your thoughts on this lens - look forward to more of your content, keep ‘em coming.
I only started watching your channel recently, but want to say I believe you still have a pleasant voice. Continued prayers for you and your family. Have a wonderful Holiday.
Happy Christmas Ray! Thank you for continuing these videos. All the best on your road to recovery. I have the 24-120 and absolutely love it. I'm using the Zf with it rather than a smaller prime. I'm thinking of waiting for the Z7-3 since the Zf and Z6-3 are so close in specs.
I have the 24-70 f/2.8 as my travel lens, and take an 85mm f/1.8 in addition, and/or a 135mm, if I feel I might need more range. I really need low light capability. Shooting on a Z9 with more than enough pixels, allows me to crop too. Wishing you all the best for 2025 Ray, glad you're going to keep making videos and brands are sticking with you. Cheers! 🍾
Nice combo (used to shoot the main footage here). So, far I've hung on to my 85mm f/1.8; sometimes weight is a factor. But the 1.2 is on another level.
