Thanks so much for the kind words. And your comment made us pause… trying hard not to be alarmists, but maybe there are just a lot of threats right now. The loss of a major ‘indicator’ species like Spring Run Chinook is certainly telling… they’re like canaries in the coal mine.
Amazing series! This should be at least 10m views each episode! I live on the Delta and I love seeing salmon make their way up stream. Early fall they hangout in our cove. Cool creatures
Wonderful filming - but such a tragic situation. Ive been blessed to witness the awesome presence of the Chinook in all of these locations for the last 25 years and it is heartbreaking to witness the fact that I saw ONE spawning hen on Butte Creek this year. I am so thankful that you are bringing your youthful energy to spotlight the crisis these incredible creature are facing. Keep on keeping on!
Thanks so much for the comment. We’re frustrated too (that’s why we made this series), but hopefully our collective frustration can turn into collective action?!
This entire series deserves more recognition. Don’t take this the wrong way but a little bit more click-baity of a thumbnail image is likely to help get more views. So much trash on RUclips but this here is pure gold.
Incredible content! I think the biggest problem is people like Taylor Swift, and Cardi B have hundreds of millions of followers, and you guys have 939 subscribers........Keep up the good work!!
How many times did you investigate the food chain of young salmon on their way to the ocean? I always remember what the 90+ year old Wyoming woman rancher in a RUclips video said was the cause of the salmon and trout disappearing from the river on her ranch, "the salmon and trout disappeared when they cut down the NATIVE riparian zone trees on the streambank of the river." Up to 80 % of the nutrients in the diet of the aquatic inhabitants of a stream comes from the NATIVE riparian zone trees.
This is a great comment and one we sort of breeze over. When we talk about ‘channelizing’ and losing floodplain that’s absolutely correct that you also loose that riparian vegetation… and the baseline for a ‘food web’
Best video explanation of spring chinook life history I've ever seen!
Very educational thank you guys for this content and ill be looking forward for more!!
@@damondeltessandro4555 thanks so much!!
This is so well made and interesting! It feels like every tiny nook of nature is under threat now

Thanks so much for the comment. And that breaks our heart about the one hen. We think this can be turned around though!
