University in Switzerland is ridiculously cheap (around $500 - $1000 per year) and it is common for people to sit into lectures even if they are not studying that particular subject or anything at all. Also, people in Switzerland may look sad to foreigners, but they are just very reserved and don't like to show their emotions and feelings to strangers.
Lovely to see my hometown and glad you enjoyed it! I also went to Cambridge and I laughed when you explained the differences between the Swiss system and Cambridge... I often got asked the "Where do we find the University of Cambridge" question on my way to lectures! ;-)
5:42 reminds me of when I did engineering. I remember that it felt like I didn't understand a thing, but then I ended up with great grades anyway. Still confused about how that happened.

Here you have 500 Student. And if you don't understand something the Prof just makes fun of you in front of the whole class when you ask him - so yeah I wouldn't call ETH simple...
Oh no I'm well aware that ETH degrees are generally extremely hard. I found Physics in my first year to be the hardest thing in my whole degree though, like it was a joke how unnecessarily difficult it was IMO, so compared to that in particular, the ETH lecture was simple :')
