It's our last two nights on Jeju Island and we're staying at a 5-star accommodation called the Kensington Jeju Hotel. Never mind that Kensington is a post district in West London, but we're actually in South Korea! 😂 Rates may vary throughout the year. During our stay, it was about 350,000 won per night (approximately $300 US). While there were notable amenities, overall it was expensive for what it was if you compare to how much you get for your money in India and Thailand. Might be worth to mention that the Kensington facilities were clean and our room smelled wonderfully fresh (in some countries, 5-star hotels can smell musty due to humidity). I love how you and your Mum travel together. I was very close to both my Mum and Dad. I even moved back home 11 years ago as my lifelong specialists gave me two years at the most to live which was realistic considering my extensive health history. We all expected me to pass away first because of my health but I'm a fighter and even though I'm often bedridden I don't let it stop me from doing all I can to keep living. My Mum passed away on Boxing Day 2020 from stage four cancer. Dad and I were devastated and from then on we did most things together including starting to plan to build a new home that was smaller and less maintenance as we struggled with housework and maintaining many gardens, Dad with his age and both of us with our health. One morning we were going out to look at kitchens and Dad didn't wake up to his alarm. I went in to wake him up and found that he passed away peacefully in his sleep. It's only been six weeks and I'm trying to be strong and I will live my life to honour both my parents and will do my best to live for the three of us. The one thing having many medical issues has done is make me strong but I always had my parents who helped me be strong. I always try to look at the positives in every situation so I'm grateful that Dad didn't suffer or even know he was dying and now he is in the right place at my Mums side and one day I'll be their too. Enjoy every minute you have with loved ones. Xx

Im not sure why but I read your comment and I felt the need to comment. I'm not sure why but maybe telling my story could be of some use to you somehow. Children are a blessing but every parent needs some downtime and watching these two is a great place to start. I always wanted children from a young age however I was too sick to carry a child. During university where I studied business I was a nanny and I absolutely loved it so it never really felt like a job. After running a business while teaching one Bible in schools class at the local school I realised teaching children was where I was meant to be so I retrained and became a primary school teacher. My Deputy Principal and a social worker asked me to foster a very abused and emotionally damaged 7 year old boy over the Christmas/Summer school holidays here in New Zealand and of course I said yes. He ended up staying with me for two years and it was the start of me fostering children who were hard to place. So even though I was unable to have my own children I made sure I had children in my life until I became too sick to work and foster and now I get to enjoy time with my friends children who call me Aunty (I feel so blessed as it's a gift to be an influence in any child's life). I believe that we learn from our children as they learn from us. Enjoy your child but also never feel bad for taking time for yourself as that is healthy for both of you. I wish you and your loved ones every happiness in the world. Xx
Great that the music stopped so early! Some years ago when I was in a hotel and had to attend a meeting all day the day after and had been traveling earlier in the day, I heard music at the hotel until I think 2am or so. Not quite what you want to hear when being fatigued from traveling, and having to get up early to eat breakfast and leave the hotel around 9am to be at a 10am meeting. The noise being on a Friday night is no excuse tbh. People may have meetings or conferences to attend during weekends as well!

And I always enjoy when Mommy Oh is in the videos as well, it’s just so awesome to see the relationship between mother and daughter traveling the world together! Not many are fortunate to have that kind of close relationship with their parents. I’m fortunate to have a very close relationship with my parents (and live neighbor with my parents) but I know far too many who don’t have any contact with family and that’s just sad...

How do you take care of your skin while traveling?
These days my skin routine while traveling and at home is similar. Washing face once in the morning and once at night. Remove makeup thoroughly. Use clay mask a couple times a week. Exercise (you'll likely get good amount of walking in when traveling). And most of all, drink enough water 😊

I was on the Disney cruise once, it was so much fun at the start! But on our way back to Florida on the cruise we found out they had to put down one of my horses so it was very sad at the end but Still! I’d love to go on it again. Anyways, we had to put the door key thingy in this spot for the lights to turn on but one night I ended up loosing all the keys!

Was there some diced vegetable in the Natto? My preferred garnishes for eating Natto is with spicy Mustard, a splash of seasoned soy sauce & the seasoned shreds of preserved Kelp (a black colour).. Also depends on whar kind of miso. There are types made with different beans or mixed with other grain that changes flavour somewhat.
Ooops, am too early 😄. My family and i loves staycation and idk where it started but i somehow got addicted to the sound of utensils and plates during breakfast buffet. Am i that weird? 😅. Anyways love u Mina and Mommy Oh 😘😘😘

Depends on what you're specifically looking for. If for variety in Seoul, I recommend Gwangjang Market. However it has gotten even more touristy over the years due to media coverage (ie: Netflix street food series). For less crowds, you might prefer Mangwon Market.
