i just read the fawn and absolutely loved it! eszter is so complex and it’s very interesting to decipher her mixed feelings towards her lover and her relationship with angela.

It is very hard to say what it is about accurately without spoiling it, and the way everything is told out of order means you won't even really know until late in the book. But basically a famous actress reminisces about a childhood in poverty and her troubled relationships with others, while addressing all of this to "you" as one of the characters in the book.
