    Do you agree that the 90s is the pinnacle of bodybuilding? Everyone had something original. Probably the best combination of mass and conditioning

      Because of today's technology athletes will never look the way they did in the 90's. We went to the gym and trained and there was no phones or social media to distract us from pushing to our physical limits.

    • @Demane69
      @Demane69 2 года назад +28

      @@hinrik5763 I believe you are missing the point (if you were serious enough to care about one). Body building today is inferior because of the drugs. Too many crutches, not enough hard training combining proven old school techniques, eating, training and a balance of tested and proven drug regimens. The conveniences and shortcuts of today ruined the sport.

    • @hinrik5763
      @hinrik5763 2 года назад +6

      @@Demane69 I agree today it´s like that. I was saying in the future the drugs will be better and they will be able to create a more more muscular and peeled physique then they did in the 90´s and that combined with hard training and diet will make some super freaks.

      @@Gnybr na Dorian won more on a popularity contest than he did on a bodybuilding one.yes,he was hands down the winner of his first two Mr Olympia wins but after that he shouldn't have won as many as he did. He torn his bicep making his arm horribly smaller and disfigured. Plus he was known for not having great arms as well as not having a great chest which are two major must have body parts that put high points on the scoring cards.he had great legs and condition but so did many others.the back at that time was his greatest and most talked about body part but isn't it a bodybuilding contest not a body part contest?in the history of controversial bodybuilding contest he has 4 of them.i know he has a huge fan base and he can do no wrong in their eyes but between the damaged arm and his gut started to get bigger making him the Godfather of bring the gut into the game ,he never should have won
      the last 3 to 4 Mr Olympias.Nasser had him beat,except for his die hard fans ,everyone especially the crowd knows this as well as,Kevin, Ray and wheeler. Say Ray was too small lol,that's one if the biggest jokes. Shawn with his mass and condition(which is what its all about ) had about one of the most even complete physics to stand on the stage. Only real reason why Ray lost (2 of them)is politics. Ray was out spoken and told the truth about the judges and wrongs in bodybuilding, so no way in hell was he going to get the title.dorian was good but not what his popularity makes him out to be

    Awesome video! The 90s were great. I was there. The terrible thing though is so many of those guys died prematurely. Thats no coincidence. Very sad.

    these were the pioneers of what we know as "modern bodybuilding" but there was still an element of beauty to it - before it was as big as you can get - look at flex, kevin, lee priest, - then dorian and ronnie - because they were pushing into new territory, the sport changed slightly - i remember watching this on espn back in the day and looking at dorian's back and thinking "holy ****" how is that even possible = yeah a bit of juice sure but consistency, hard work, dedication, and striving to be the best - as the man himself said "i knew i was ready at four weeks out but i wasn't going for dominant, i wanted to be a STAND OUT" - what an ERA

    This is hands down the best motivational video I've ever seen!!! I was heavy into the NPC amateur ranks in the 90's. Training at Gold's Gym Venice. Had some top level success at the State level. These guys were my world. I bowed out of competition because of the over training and PED abuse. I had the foresight to realize that 2nd place in a state competition is not worth your life. Unfortunately most of these Titans are dead or suffering serious health issues. Anyway, this video Rocks!!!

    It's the 90s era and everything else. These guy's were absolutely incredible. The lineups back then were amazing and exciting. The open class this year is getting exciting and the future looks good with new faces. But it'll never match the 90s.

    I met Markus Ruhl July 2000. He was on an USO tour and had stopped at Osan AB Korea.
    He thinks he was weighing around 316 that day and it was ridiculous seeing someone that big in person. Of course July in Korea is hot and crazy humid, he looked like he was dying.
    At the time I didn’t realize he was two years younger than me. I was 30 and he was 28 that day, I thought he was in his mid 30’s from how he looked.
    Bodybuilding at the top level is hard on your body.

    The greatest bodybuilders whose physiques have stood the test are from the 90s.
    Haney, Yates Ronnie, Flex, Shawn, Kevin, Nasser, Priest...these names just scratch the surface of the extremely stacked talents of the 90's era.
    In an effort to bet bigger and bigger, we have disformed behemoths today, alas.
