The composer, MOSPICK, ended up giving it to IZ*One's agency because Cube was taking too long. Cube never owned the song and made no money from IZ*One recording it other than perhaps a fee for CLC's demo recording being used as the guide track. Cube selling the song from under CLC is kind of an urban legend that fits the narrative that Cube badly mismanaged CLC, which they pretty much did, but it isn't really accurate. They never had rights to the song and lost a chance at them when the composer moved on. For fans of CLC it was a kind of unforgivable misstep by Cube as many thought the song would have been as successful with CLC as it was for IZ*One, but that is likely debatable. That said it was a good song that might have helped CLC progress. I'm just glad that G-Idle writes their own music and doesn't have to lean on Cube to produce albums other than to finance them.
