Dear Kelly and Cody, my husband and I started watching your videos probably 3 years ago. I commented and asked how you recorded your footage and you replied with a specific GoPro! I went ahead and purchased one to start taping our own camping adventures. Anyway, fast forward to 2021. We camped in Mackinaw City last year but I was limited with what physical activity I could do- I was 6 months pregnant. We camped and visited Mackinac Island and rode bikes. We also drove up to Munising and hiked several trails to all kinds of waterfalls at Pictured Rocks. This year, we planned the same trip months ago. We brought our camper and our 6 month old baby boy. We are still here and COINCIDENTALLY enough… we watched your Mackinac Island video and then this one. Welp, my husband kept saying “what if they are at same campground” “what if we run into them”. Welp, today on our way back from Tahquamenon State Park, sleepy as any new parents may be, we happen to spot a Hummer H3 hauling a camper with a couple kayaks and a DOME LIFE sticker… as we were wearing Dome Life t shirts🤣. Anyway, we are so happy to have crossed some sort of path with an incredibly inspirational couple. You make a difference and you have a huge place in our adventurous hearts! Thank you for being you. So much love- The Matthews family 🤍🤍🤍
I live in CA yuk and my goal is to live somewhere with no cars. I loved the video of the island. It’s the type of place I’d love to see. We just bought a motorhome as I’m not much of a tent person anymore and bought one of those ovens we saw on your videos. First couple times I burnt the scones but I will keep trying. Love your videos
Welcome to Michigan! My home state! Glad you had a great time at Simply Bliss! Heading up there in a month- Dru and Ger are good friends of mine. Wonderful people! Enjoy the UP and beautiful Lake Superior!
Listening to the wind & bird chirping. Heaven. The thunder box out in the bush. Love it. But as a child we had a out house & hated it. Used the old potty under the bed. for night use. Lol. Lovely spot to camp. Beach perfect. The water looked amazing 10 out of 10. I buy pumpkin & ricotta ravioli with cream mushroom sauce. Cheers Lynne Victoria Australia 🇦🇺🐨👍🏻🙂❤️🙂❤️
I LOVE Michigan! I’m so jealous! I spent every summer there as a child. My Grandmother lived on Lake Huron so we would go spend time with her there in Caseville, MI. Love it. It’s so beautiful. Enjoy your time in Michigan! I miss it so much. I must go back one summer soon! Have fun guys. Also there are wild blueberries that grow in the woods just before you get down to the beach.
Very pretty site 😊I am still amazed at how beautiful those beaches are...wow💚🌲The food looked yummy as always😋Thanks for sharing! Can't wait for the next one
Hey, so you tried pasties! You are now honorable Yoopers! I never heard of them with gravy, only ketchup. but gravy sounds good. Your camp hosts sound very helpful and friendly. Loved the toilet in the wild. I saw one like that on the Appalachian Trail and it had a floral lid. So funny. So keep on enjoying north country and our beautiful Lake Michigan. Now you have a cool place to come in summer to escape the heat. I'm enjoying seeing you two visiting some of the places I've been to in Michigan. I should visit Arkansas during our winter months and escape the cold! Take care.
oh so glad you tried a Pastie.........yes smoked fish is big up there and of course the fudge! They call themselves YOPPERS...........dont forget to keep your eye out for Petosky Stones, when at the beach..........also, when you get to Lake Superior keep your eye out for Agate Rocks............So happy you are enjoying yourselves in Michigan, hopefully the weather will continue to be nice and the bugs are not too bad.
That was one NICE beach. That sweet relaxing vibe of the place came right through. Thanks for the "LookSee" PS.. Great reminder of how yummy butternut rav's can be.
Yum Cherry fudge. That would make a good Christmas gift. Being close to a state park and the beach is perfect. What a great hipcamp and close to Mackinac Island too. The beach looks so peaceful and beautiful. a great place to recharge. I still need to make this ravioli recipe. I baked cornbread in a cast iron skillet this weekend. I didn't grow up with baking cornbread. I really enjoy watching Kellie cook and her recipes always look so good.
You guys, the shot you captured (after the ant on two rocks) looking down the path toward the water, was like a beautiful storybook illustration! Very, very pretty.
Just found your channel. You guys are so fun. We just left Wilderness SP a week ago. Heading to Interlochen next weekend. Gorgeous up there! Lived here most of my life and still finding hidden treasures. Hope to see ya out there! And that smoked whitefish dip is the best!!
I've found some nice places on HipCamp too, definitely have to thoroughly read the listing descriptions though because like you said they're all completely different. Dinner looked amazing as always!
So glad you are enjoying my home state. A bit of trivia for you. Since you already added Yooper to your vocabulary, another term Yoopers call those in the lower peninsula.(Trolls). Where do trolls live? Below the bridge. I hope you get a chance to see Pictured Rocks Lakeshore, Copper Harbor, Tahquamenon Falls(upper and lower), Porcupine Mtns.
I've been following y'all around for a while. This evening I did a final review of tent options, and have purchased a 6-person dome tent. July is already booked, but I will schedule some days in August for a getaway.
Those Ravioli looked amazing! I have a Butternut Squash recipe that is not Raviolis and it has a lot of the same ingredients. It is amazing! My recipe uses Maple Syrup in it and it compliments the squash in a fabulous way! Thanks for a great vlog!
Kelly, this is my favorite recipe of yours. I make it all the time. My Walmart used to carry a really good butternut squash ravioli but lately I have not been able to find it. They do make a chicken and mushroom ravioli in the same brand. I can sub that for the butternut squash and it taste great. All the flavors blend well with the chicken and mushrooms. Love your channel!
I am sure you crossed the Mackinac Bridge by now! And once you cross that you are in gods country! You can buy more fudge in Mackinaw city. Well I’m not sure if you’re visiting the Soo locks they are very interesting. We always enjoy every year taking the Soo locks boat tour. And you just cannot miss Tahquamenon falls you may have already seen it by now. Then you can head up to whitefish point and see where the Edmund Fitzgerald sank museum. One week from today we will be near Munising by the pictured rocks national Lakeshore setting up our camp. And yes we camp in a tent!!
Need to check out Bay View campground in the UP of Michigan have walk in sites right on lake superior just beautiful place. Have 1st come site no reservations needed.
Beautiful spot! So happy you're enjoying Michigan. Also- how in the world do you two stay in such good shape while eating all of that glorious, high calorie food??? Is it because you workout everyday? Dayum! So jealous!
I've been watching all the videos from your Michigan trip. I live here and have been all the areas you visited. Were you surprised to see all that Michigan has to offer? People from outside the state have no idea how nice it is here.
@@CodyandKellie and you only scratched the surface on things to see and do. I know it is hard to see everything when you are trying to see all the states. Glad you did come and I really enjoyed your videos.
My husband is really allergic to buffalo gnats. He found this cool netting to wear over his head and neck when he goes outside. You can get them at most camping stores
If you haven’t seen it yet check out their next video. They shared a link to this site and the one featured there which is owned by Dru and Gerry’s daughter.
I’m Dru and Gerry’s niece, I’m so glad y’all are enjoying a place I love so much!
They're the best!!
