What can I say? Shaye's solo at :33 and what she adds at :49 and :53 is pure magic........The band sounding smooth on this elegant Ellington tune. Dizzy adding her usual solid support. I believe their performance of this 1928 tune is stunning. And as always they make it look so easy...They are the best. Watch the original and see how Shaye recreates the opening solo. Their constant dedication to excellence is astounding.................................
Many thanks, Randy. Ewan Bleach and His Band were playing this in London almost a year ago. All members of his band had the sheet music on stands in front of them. As Ewan is a friend and occasional member of Tuba Skinny, I wonder whether he put them on to it and even emailed them photo-scans of the music? Craig has the sheet music on his knee.
If anyone knows the answer to this question it would be you.......Is there a technical term for what Shaye does at :49 and :53 ? It matches the original perfectly.................................

@@brendamello2202 In both cases, Shaye is 'flutter-tonguing' or 'growling' on the note of D flat concert. Not easy.
