Perfect Connections! I got it too and I even got "eye" but it wasn't quick. Excellent Mini. I learned SINK-SANK-SUNK in the 3rd grade. 1:05 for me. Entertaining Strands. I made one mistake: I tried RICH as a standalone word.
@@Rangsk I really enjoyed it. I liked the longer words for a change. The rich and money traps got me for a while. 😊 I then realised that rich was the end of the Spangram, but took a long time to see how! I completed it with no hints. Of course, I don't have anyone watching me and I'm not giving a running commentary. Really enjoy your videos every day. Thanks for putting in the time.
I actually didn't find it hard since I found Moneyed and Affluent and Rich. I didn't find the Spangram first. I figured we were dealing with longer words.
I thought of contacts that go in your eye too, and that led Lee into getting the purple. I had no idea with strands, needed a couple hints to get going.
SANK is the past tense of SINK, yeah. SUNK is the past participle, so “it has sunk” or “it had sunk”. Most regular -ed Bern’s in English have the same form for past tense and past participle, so it makes these irregular ones confusing.
Didn’t know 1 Across in the mini, but all the rest of the Acrosses I got immediately, which if course made me zip through all of the downs except I still blanked on 4 down despite just needing the first letter, but hey, that meant I now knew 1 Across, just had to fill in that 4th letter to finish off the puzzle by solving the clue “Bit of romantic potential”: SPANK! …Don’t judge me.
Loved your knock-knock joke! Contact is one of my favourite films ever and the book is fantastic! I miss Carl Sagan ❤

probably the hardest strands of all time. combo of not understanding the category and the lengthy type of words used
Yeh I had a hard time I actually got the theme quickly and STILL needed 3 hints 🤣
@@Joe-lb8qnSame here.
Yeah I think if the category had been less abstract it would have helped a lot. Like, "rolling in dough" or something.

Just watched Contact over the weekend, probably my 5th watch
Sham is not used for pillowcase in the UK.
Even after I got that it was money that was rolled in, it was still hard to get the words. This Strands was hard!
Got the purple third today.

While I was editing I literally thought "oh wow I said the category"
I made the same mistake with Sank vs. Sunk, I would've had my first under 20 second mini lol

Spank 🤣
ps Today I learned that "sham" is a decorative pillow cover.
Strands broke my spanagram first streak….
Sank is past tense, sunk is past participle
Mini crossword would have been my fastest time only if I didn’t goof on sank/sunk too.
I did sink initially LOL
Same lol
