It's no surprise really. Aside from FNAF, DAI seemed to be the only game released last year that wasn't either a disappointment or a flop. It's as if every other game was released only to make Inquisition look good in comparison.

Still debating if I should get Dragon Age: Inquisition or not. I didn't really get on with the first one, heard that the second was bad do I didn't bother with it. Tried the first 4 hours of this one back in April or May when the Xbox One let you play the first 6 hours. I didn't hate it, but... Look, just tell me it gets better after that. Come on, DA fans. I'm looking for an RPG to play before Mass Effect: Andromeda comes along. Sell me on this one. Convince me to get it.

DAO is so obsolete now that if they do anything, it'd be a remake to some level. DA2 would only happen if they chose to bundle such an experience with that DAO remake. I expect nothing like this until at least the 2020s. It isn't a rational choice for them at present (same with the ME trilogy).

+Mysarthe Orthia Really? I felt almost the opposite. I thought DAI seemed more 'blah' in comparison to other games I've played/still playing. Just a couple examples: Dragon Age Origins and Fallout 3. While I do like and enjoy DAI, BioWare took too much away from the "Dragon Age experience," such as lessening player choice, quality of content, variety, gameplay mechanics and whatnot. Instead of "expanding" the game and fleshing things out, they scaled everything down except for map spaces, which are basically void of content anyway.

Bought the game Day 1 on PC and all DLC since as a PC it was a mess on release in terms of controls and UI if you try to use anything other than a controller. Some other points: 1)Tactics for your companions has become non existent compared to even DA2. 2)Despite us having a much bigger area to explore we have gone from limited choice and player agency in DA2 to no choice and no agency in DAI and in the DLC its no better either especially Tresspasser. 3)The game overall from core mechanics to everything else has suffered as a result of Bioware/EA's completely illogical idea od stuffing MP into what was a SP franchise as result what we have is some half assed game that is neither SP or MP but some broken MMORPG wannabe 4)Bioware to this day has still not apologized to its PC Gaming customers for that misleading video that marketed DAI as "Made by PC Gamers for PC Gamers" despite it being inherently clear from the way this game is made that what we got was a rushed and shoddy port of the console version of this game. I had bought all the books games and DLC and comics from the day DAO launched, however after playing DAI I think this will be the last time I ever purchase another DA game unless its 50% off or better I would even rank this in my top 20 games of 2014 or my top 100 games of all time.If you havent bought this yet then wait till its at least %50 off Bioware and EA is not deserving of your money for this tripe that they have made.
+James Brand You're not the first person I've seen complain about the lack of agency in DA2 and DAI, but honestly, I don't get what you all mean? I get it, it's an RPG, you want to feel like your decisions "matter", but I feel like you're looking at Origins with rose-colored glasses. If you mean because Anders and Solas have their own agendas that trump everything eventually, that doesn't make fighting Meredith and Corypheus any less important just because they're not as epic as the Archdemon. DAO's story is as much on rails as DA2 and DAI, the only difference is you just can't pin it all on one character. Personally, I think DA2 has the better story (Hawke vs. the City the Refused to be Saved), and I loved the nation-building aspect of DAI. Plus, "Wicked Eyes & Wicked Hearts" is one of the more creative game quests I've ever played. Sure, sometimes you just want to kick some ass, but Bioware managed to turn pre-Revolution French court politics into a video game. The very idea is so crazy that they deserve props for even thinking of it. That they were successful at it is absolutely bananas.

Not 2017. Maybe 2018. Maybe 2019. Mass Effect: Andromeda has to happen in 2017, there's a New IP game to release sometime, and for all we know there could be some secret project that also takes precedence over Dragon Age. But so far I'm preparing for 2018 (aka a couple years from now) until further news. It'd be in the PS4/XB1 console gen, though with Pro/'Scorpio' enhancements, most likely.
Wonder what the chances of EA releasing a GOTY upgrade for people who have already bought the base game? I am guessing about as much chance as the DLC's ever being on sale :)

+Aslirda the day before trespasser released the main game was 60% off, Hakkon was like 25% or 30% off, and Decent was either 10% or 15% off. EA has been kinda reasonable on origin for a couple of weeks
First 40 seconds were amazing. Actually rivaling the ME2 teaser... Then came the voice over narration... the bane of all teasers in production... and destroyed it.
Absolutely loved this game. I played witcher 2 and 3 but always return to the dragon age series. I've played this series since dragon age origins and all the dlcs. I am a big fan. I know that to be first I will be paying premium price for everything that is how the business works. If bioware didn't make a profit there would be no dragon age no mass effect and no new ip. They weathered their failure with incredible class. Let this developer reap their rewards without a bunch stupid remarks from witcher fans. I am also a fan of witcher who by the way deserve their rewards. Thank god for dragon age and witcher because no fantasy rpg (with long sighted developers with courage) are on the horizon. Also those who played this game for free seem to be the ones who go ahead and trash it. The story is complex in both games asking more from their fans than any other game and the lore in both goes back for years. They are a cross between a game and a hobby. Generally fans come and go but true fans wait anxiously for the next. This isn't rare in video games but having a Vast fan base is. Another rare thing about both developers is that not only is their fan base vast but their fans are also passionate fans of the developers. Two interesting things to note. People shouldn't buy something they can't afford and these two games aren't cheap duly noted. That's life. But bioware dragon age inquisition became progressively less expensive as time went on. I can afford to be in on the first release and all dlcs this is my chose. If I couldn't afford it I wait that is also life and is the truth of every product out there it's called commercialism.
We get it. The Witcher 3 is a masterful game that truly defines our future expectations of the RPG genre moving forward. Now shut up and let us enjoy Dragon Age too. This is coming from a die hard Witcher fan.

please make another control system like dragon age origin origin is simply based on mouse click click walk click attack click ability used almost no need of mastery on keyboard just click for work. some keys only required for shortcut , INQUISITION is worst control i don't know why you included mouse courser almost every thing controlled by keyboard . how unfortunate mouse game turn in to keyboard game

So I own the original game already, haven't played the game since last year but I want to play the game again with all DLC this time. I would have to cough up 55$ if i wanted to "download" all DLC, or 60$ for the game of the year edition. If your buying the game for the first time your good, 60$ total dollars for everything. If you own the original like myself...original game 60$ + DLC 55$....115$ total. Yeeeeaaa f that >_>

I think this will be priced as a new game. It would make sense since the DLCs altogether is $55 dollars. I already have all of the DLCs, and so, this isn't as important for me as it is for newcomers and fans who were waiting for a GOTY Edition. I still do want a Spoils of the Dwarves.
I've played this game a million times over lol, played it all the time on the 360 and when I could afford an Xbox one I got it again and then later bought the DLC's in a sale on the Microsoft store and I'm still playing to this day, I'm literally on a playthrough, female|human|rogue-archer|romancing Cullen, that's the current one I have others I intend to do also, female elf two-handed romance solas and then maybe a male elf and romance Dorian 👍🏻
I'm confused, Dragon Age: Inquisition has now a game of the year edition while Shadow of Mordor already has a game of the year edition, both came out in 2014. So basically there are 2 game of the year in 2014?
+VKane game of the year isnt an official title in the sense that one person claims it so. Game of the year means that THAT particular reviewer officially stated it to be their number 1 game of the year. DAI got most of that in 2014.

Surprisingly, this is the first rpgs I've enjoyed since since legend of the dragoon. I have such a massive backlog that includes the first two games that I've started a few times only to get so hyped while I was playing I wanted to read the books. But after reading the books I decided I would restart inquisition and restart the first two game at a later date. Hopefully we can get a remastered collection at some point.
I have the books and comics downloaded and will try to read them in order :). Along with a 3 game playthrough (with helpful mods), attempts to play or learn from the side games (mobile/web), and maybe alternate 3 game playthroughs (apart from my fixation on Human Male Mage with similar RP). That'll take up my next year or two or three until the next game.
No GotY for PS3/XB360. No Trespasser for PS3/XB360. I regret pre-ordering the base game now, knowing that I won't be able to play all content without a new console and re-purchasing the game in one format or another. Way to go, EA.
I enjoyed the game, but i agree, Bioware and EA announcing that they wouldn't continue with DLC and patches felt like a stab in the back to all those that bought it on last gen

It really is a travesty the game won Game of the Year 2014. Game is fine, but so bloated. Out of the 50-100 hours playtime over half is just running from point A to point B and 25% is killing same basic mobs again and again. The remaining 25% is excellent. Huge world is not really a good thing if it is huge only for the sake of being huge.
I'm doing a full story playthrough of this if anyone is interested in checking it out. Start to finish, doing all the DLCs as well. Playing as a Qunari warrior. New episode every day until it's finished.
I'm doing a full story playthrough of this on my channel here as a Qunari warrior Inquisitor if anyone wants to experience the game and its DLC again. It's a very in-depth playthrough, as in I talk to every character I can and show all scenes with them, do gameplay exploration of all major areas in the game and of course show all the main quests in the story. New episodes every day starting next Friday. 21 episodes are up and next week there will be x2 videos a day for the first week of returning then back to one a day until the series is completely finished.

Instead of "expanding" the game and fleshing things out, they scaled everything down except for map spaces, which are basically void of content anyway.

Bought the game Day 1 on PC and all DLC since as a PC it was a mess on release in terms of controls and UI if you try to use anything other than a controller.
Some other points:
1)Tactics for your companions has become non existent compared to even DA2.
2)Despite us having a much bigger area to explore we have gone from limited choice and player agency in DA2 to no choice and no agency in DAI and in the DLC its no better either especially Tresspasser.
3)The game overall from core mechanics to everything else has suffered as a result of Bioware/EA's completely illogical idea od stuffing MP into what was a SP franchise as result what we have is some half assed game that is neither SP or MP but some broken MMORPG wannabe
4)Bioware to this day has still not apologized to its PC Gaming customers for that misleading video that marketed DAI as "Made by PC Gamers for PC Gamers" despite it being inherently clear from the way this game is made that what we got was a rushed and shoddy port of the console version of this game.
I had bought all the books games and DLC and comics from the day DAO launched, however after playing DAI I think this will be the last time I ever purchase another DA game unless its 50% off or better I would even rank this in my top 20 games of 2014 or my top 100 games of all time.If you havent bought this yet then wait till its at least %50 off Bioware and EA is not deserving of your money for this tripe that they have made.

+James Brand You're not the first person I've seen complain about the lack of agency in DA2 and DAI, but honestly, I don't get what you all mean? I get it, it's an RPG, you want to feel like your decisions "matter", but I feel like you're looking at Origins with rose-colored glasses. If you mean because Anders and Solas have their own agendas that trump everything eventually, that doesn't make fighting Meredith and Corypheus any less important just because they're not as epic as the Archdemon. DAO's story is as much on rails as DA2 and DAI, the only difference is you just can't pin it all on one character.
Personally, I think DA2 has the better story (Hawke vs. the City the Refused to be Saved), and I loved the nation-building aspect of DAI. Plus, "Wicked Eyes & Wicked Hearts" is one of the more creative game quests I've ever played. Sure, sometimes you just want to kick some ass, but Bioware managed to turn pre-Revolution French court politics into a video game. The very idea is so crazy that they deserve props for even thinking of it. That they were successful at it is absolutely bananas.

I've played all the games and all the dlc when is dragon age 4 out? If the series ends I will cry me small eyeballs out.
Not 2017. Maybe 2018. Maybe 2019. Mass Effect: Andromeda has to happen in 2017, there's a New IP game to release sometime, and for all we know there could be some secret project that also takes precedence over Dragon Age. But so far I'm preparing for 2018 (aka a couple years from now) until further news. It'd be in the PS4/XB1 console gen, though with Pro/'Scorpio' enhancements, most likely.

Absolutely loved this game. I played witcher 2 and 3 but always return to the dragon age series. I've played this series since dragon age origins and all the dlcs. I am a big fan. I know that to be first I will be paying premium price for everything that is how the business works. If bioware didn't make a profit there would be no dragon age no mass effect and no new ip. They weathered their failure with incredible class. Let this developer reap their rewards without a bunch stupid remarks from witcher fans. I am also a fan of witcher who by the way deserve their rewards. Thank god for dragon age and witcher because no fantasy rpg (with long sighted developers with courage) are on the horizon. Also those who played this game for free seem to be the ones who go ahead and trash it. The story is complex in both games asking more from their fans than any other game and the lore in both goes back for years. They are a cross between a game and a hobby. Generally fans come and go but true fans wait anxiously for the next. This isn't rare in video games but having a Vast fan base is. Another rare thing about both developers is that not only is their fan base vast but their fans are also passionate fans of the developers. Two interesting things to note. People shouldn't buy something they can't afford and these two games aren't cheap duly noted. That's life. But bioware dragon age inquisition became progressively less expensive as time went on. I can afford to be in on the first release and all dlcs this is my chose. If I couldn't afford it I wait that is also life and is the truth of every product out there it's called commercialism.

please make another control system like dragon age origin origin is simply based on mouse click click walk click attack click ability used almost no need of mastery on keyboard just click for work. some keys only required for shortcut , INQUISITION is worst control i don't know why you included mouse courser almost every thing controlled by keyboard . how unfortunate mouse game turn in to keyboard game

Some professional voice tells us how good this game is.. that's nice, but the content of the game should be able to speak for itself.. at least if you have someone there who knows how to create something like a good trailer/add...

If you own the original like myself...original game 60$ + DLC 55$....115$ total. Yeeeeaaa f that >_>

I think this will be priced as a new game. It would make sense since the DLCs altogether is $55 dollars. I already have all of the DLCs, and so, this isn't as important for me as it is for newcomers and fans who were waiting for a GOTY Edition. I still do want a Spoils of the Dwarves.
I've played this game a million times over lol, played it all the time on the 360 and when I could afford an Xbox one I got it again and then later bought the DLC's in a sale on the Microsoft store and I'm still playing to this day, I'm literally on a playthrough, female|human|rogue-archer|romancing Cullen, that's the current one I have others I intend to do also, female elf two-handed romance solas and then maybe a male elf and romance Dorian 👍🏻

Game of the year means that THAT particular reviewer officially stated it to be their number 1 game of the year. DAI got most of that in 2014.

8 years since this trailer, did Bioware forget how to create Dragon Age game?
Surprisingly, this is the first rpgs I've enjoyed since since legend of the dragoon. I have such a massive backlog that includes the first two games that I've started a few times only to get so hyped while I was playing I wanted to read the books. But after reading the books I decided I would restart inquisition and restart the first two game at a later date. Hopefully we can get a remastered collection at some point.
I have the books and comics downloaded and will try to read them in order :). Along with a 3 game playthrough (with helpful mods), attempts to play or learn from the side games (mobile/web), and maybe alternate 3 game playthroughs (apart from my fixation on Human Male Mage with similar RP). That'll take up my next year or two or three until the next game.

No GotY for PS3/XB360. No Trespasser for PS3/XB360. I regret pre-ordering the base game now, knowing that I won't be able to play all content without a new console and re-purchasing the game in one format or another. Way to go, EA.
I enjoyed the game, but i agree, Bioware and EA announcing that they wouldn't continue with DLC and patches felt like a stab in the back to all those that bought it on last gen

It really is a travesty the game won Game of the Year 2014. Game is fine, but so bloated. Out of the 50-100 hours playtime over half is just running from point A to point B and 25% is killing same basic mobs again and again. The remaining 25% is excellent. Huge world is not really a good thing if it is huge only for the sake of being huge.
6 years later and i'll finally play this game. My pride wouldn't allow me to leave Origins behind, but now the time has come 😁

I'm doing a full story playthrough of this on my channel here as a Qunari warrior Inquisitor if anyone wants to experience the game and its DLC again. It's a very in-depth playthrough, as in I talk to every character I can and show all scenes with them, do gameplay exploration of all major areas in the game and of course show all the main quests in the story. New episodes every day starting next Friday. 21 episodes are up and next week there will be x2 videos a day for the first week of returning then back to one a day until the series is completely finished.
