Station in marine barracks rota in 1980 to 84 was the most exciting place in my life .yes back then we did not have cell's wish i had then besides still photos 😢
The Habanera Bar at the 2:55 mark, was The Suzie Bar back in the 70s. When I got there in 74, it was the first bar I ever went in, in the town of Rota. It was run by a lady named Mercedes.
I stumbled upon your video while searching for information about life in Rota. My cousin is urging my family and I to relocate from the United States. I'm curious about your setup. Do you use a GoPro with a gimbal?
Rota is amazing for both Americans and Spaniards. And is looking better every year. I live in Seville city but Rota is my my list for moving in a few years. And yes I use a GoPro with a gimbal
Rota has changed massively since I was there 74-77. It's gotten so modern now. Back then it was a poor town with nothing but bars, catering to the Navy base. I would get lost walking there now. N9thing looks the same.... But that's to be expected I guess.
Yeah. It has change a bit over the years, but what I like is that it remains very Spanish still, not like other areas of Spain like Malaga or Alicante. I'm gonna spend some vacation in Rota this July so I'm planing to film some more Rota videos and the towns around too. Maybe you can come back and visit again ☺️
@@TeleportWalkers Try to video the main street from Red Square (Habanera Bar), up to the Naval Base gate. I would love to see that area. That was where all the main bars were back then.
We walk on this promenade every evening after going out for dinner! I can't wait to do it again when I go in September!
Awesome!!
thanks, lived on the beach fourty yrs ago, and it was the best! ooh rah!
Glad you enjoyed it!
