Words are important. Tester vs.Detector! The way to differentiate a Natural Diamond from a Lab Grown Diamond is to use a Detector. Those “pen style “ devices can not differentiate a ND from a LGD. Detectors are expensive ($3,500 - $6,000) and DeBeers recognizes the need for its jewelers to have a Detector, so in October 2024 DeBeers will sell jewelry stores and inexpensive Detector. Until then, the Yehuda brand offers their Sherlock Holmes Detector and their Mr. Watson Detector.
Someone a few days ago that owns a twenty dollar diamond tester bought a ring with stones so ugly i immediately knew it was real, symmetry was so bad it wouldn't grade poor, no sparkle and you could see carbon despite its obvious treatment. Guessing he bought it from a guy in a trench coat. 😂
Are there any testers in the $200-$300 range that are close enough? Even against an F1 Moissanite?

Debeers can eat a bag of richards, I'm going with the $20 option
