Hard lesson. Most people bind and fly , I hope that more people will take the time to go for walk down the air strip . Thank for sharing.

Some lessons are and/or need to be. Being too complacent was my problem here - everything always going well until it didn't. 😒

I’ll add a satellite receiver in all my EDF planes since they travel further away from the radio. It’s a secondary back up to not losing a signal.

Thanks, it certainly hurt for a bit. It's all good though, I ended up getting another not long after. I also sent the receiver back to the supplier for testing and they found it to be faulty, so at least that was replaced under warranty. 🙂

Wow, sorry to see that, that's one of my biggest fears, losing control of the plane.
I do admit I rarely range check but I have made a habit of checking my telemetry after each flight to see if I get any holds.

I've gone years without range checking, but now do it with every new receiver without fail. Once I know it's good, I can tick that box and enjoy my flights. 🙂

How do you know its a signal issue? looks like esc is not supplying enough amps.

Because I had no control after I made the turn on the down-leg. The receiver was then sent back to supplier for testing and was deemed faulty, so they sent me a new receiver.
Also, ESCs don't supply amps, they handle amp draw from the motor and servos. 😉
