the pocket is not big enough for an Altoids tin. Think small multi tool, pocket knife or fire starter and some tinder and fishing line/hooks.

good job removing scales , ide like seeing every knife blank as its obviously a very important factor . and informative vid over all . like you say this griffin guy knows what hes doing and it shows in this design .

The pocket actually is big enough for a sparkie fire starter that's what I have in mine works well in a bug out bag

    Part 2 of my comment:
Generally I like a exposed full tang on a knife, but not on a camping/survival knife, because in cold conditions your fingers can freeze to the metal.
I haven't done desert hiking myself yet, but I have heard a guy complaining about the exposed metal on one of his TOPS knifes (I think it was an Anaconda, but they're all the same in that regard) getting uncomfortably hot after a day in hard sunlight.

Griffin is clueless. I will never do business with him again.

    Part 1 of my comment:
I don't know, but none of the knifes that were specifically marketed as survival knifes in recent times really seemed committed to the role of a survival knife. In most cases the word "survival" just seems tagged on. In this case the saber grind and the blade's belly isn't ideal for splitting fire wood. Knifes like the flat ground Cold Steel Trailmaster that aren't labeled as survival knifes are way better for such a role.
