Fun Facts about the song's creators. They were written by Gavin Greenway and his father Roger Greenway who also sang the song. Roger is known as half of a song writing duo with Roger Cook for such UK songs like You've Got Your Troubles (The Fortunes), I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing (In Perfect Harmony) (Susan Shirly) and Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress (The Hollies) to name a few. Some modern-day movie watchers would have heard some of their songs in recent films like Kong: Skull Island (Long Cool Woman) and X-Men: Dark Phoenix (My Baby Loves Lovin) Then you have his son Gavin Greenway, not only did he and his father also collaborate with Peter Maddocks on his other cartoon series like Penny Crayon and Jimbo The Jet-Set, but he would also go on to conduct movie scores for films like Antz, The Prince of Egypt, The Thin Red Line, Chicken Run, The Road to El Dorado, Shrek, Gladiator and MANY other film scores for other big name film composers like Hans Zimmer, John Powel, Harry Gregson-Williams, Patrick Doyle, James Newton Howard, and more. He also worked for Disney creating the scores for the firework show IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth and the parade Tapestry of Nations both for EPCOT. As well as BraviSEAmo! for Tokyo DisneySea.
Not out of the ordinary really. Susan Sheridan did voices for the show, she also did voices for Disney films like the Black Cauldron. Another voice actor for the show was Peter Hawkins, aka, the original Dalek.
Who is listening to this in 2022, nearly 40 years since this Maddocks cartoon appeared? And who like me has had the music going through their minds all week?
+Edward Norton Cannot remember where I got it from (you might be able to help in where I got it from) been nearly 7 years ago I do have it on 45 but have no way of ripping it onto PC.
+Philip Hubbard Cool! great to know there is another copy out there, mine is the demo with all the bbc paperwork so wasn't sure it even got made in to a "normal" single
I have music to children's tv shows mixed with tv themes from shows of a more adult nature on my channel, I wonder can you tell me, did you have to mark up on your channel material that is, aimed for children and material that is, not aimed at children due to COPPA? Your help would be much appreciated, thank you.
You can knock it, you can rock it, you can go to Timbuktu, but you'll never hear a song as good as this! :D
you may sing about penguins, dogs or ponies too, but you'll never hear a song as good as this!

My childhood right here.

Do you know if they made the song for the Milky Way advert with the red car and the blue car? Because I think it sounds like them.
@@JintySteam1 no, they didn't I'm afraid . The lyrics for the Milky Way advert were written by Mike Connaris, and was sung by Bob Saker.
Those EPCOT shows/music are my absolute favourite.
Hard to believe this Guy later composed songs for Dreamworks.
...wait what?
+Falco Lombardi Gavin Greenaway, after this, went and conducted music for Shrek, Antz and Road to El Dorado.
I didn't know that until now.
@@GregTheLion Good for him.

This song has excellent commentary on the horrors of zoos.
"Yes there's an awful lot of sadness in the zoo." First verse just going for it.
I have been to many a zoo, and I can say, hand on heart, I have NOT seen a Nessie in any of them.
One of the few songs that mentions my home town, Drumnadrochit!
