After they do the charge move you can use Angel pull to get close and then use the Demon Grab to knock them to the ground and deal a lot of damage to them. You can also just attack their back (which is their weak spot).

This is a great game, even for those that played the first 3. Part 2 was gutter trash, but DMC, Devil May Cry 1 and Devil May Cry 3 are all fun action games, no other way around it.
This game gets waaaayyyyyy too much flak, it's not nearly as bad as most people made it out to be. Sure it had some gameplay issues but the PS4 Definitive Edition fixed a lot of those issues. Basically people complain that they just don't like the design of the characters but that's subjective. Some of the boss fights could have been better though, I thought Mundus was pretty disappointing even though he had an awesome theme.

Wished this fight lasted longer, with him changing his form or something. I practically breezed through this boss, only when his health was low did i realize there were action commands to push/pull him. * sigh* never the less it was still a fun fight with this soundtrack in the background.
There was more than just Megami Tensei in it, there's inspiration from bayonetta like the Demon Evade unlike Bayonetta's Witch time which slows time down when timed right, the Demon Evade makes Dante stronger when timed correctly, the real world and Limbo world, kind of like the seperate purgatorio, Inferno, Paradiso and the real world, the freedom to combo for stylishness is mostly Devil May Cry, so I see a few other inspirations for DmCDMC, which is odd that Bayonetta of all things seemingly had a good influence on this game, as having a separate realm makes creating creative levels much easier.

I hated these enemies!! Actually no- I hated the baby angel ones the most. Always messing up my fucking combos LOL. Loved this game and all the originals (Except 4. It was too many cliche anime overtones and trash to me). Dante is Dante, and he's a super beast. Revamp Dante is fucking hot as all hell though. Kinda breaks my heart there probably won't be a sequel to this. Think of the potential.

@@Oshidorinohina DMC2 only has its dark atmosphere but the story really isn't good, and the gameplay stinks, the only good things DMC2 did was establish that L2 is the gun switch weapon, and make Bloody Palace. DMC4 is an okay game but in comparison to DMC3 it's a downgrade, but it's still a great game, though I'll admit DMC4 is a flawed game and they didn't use their re-release as an opportunity to fix the story mode's biggest issue the backtracking as dante, unlike DmCDMC which used the re-release to do major fixes.
DMC5 was the gamer's JJ Abrams Startrek - if you are a longtime fan of the franchise you hated and despised it cause Dante's hair wasnt white - WHAAAA WHAAAA! If this is the first DMC game you ever picked up you loved it for the fluid and dynamic combat, and the deeper more adulterated characters and story / lore, who were more than 2-dimensional cookie-cutter Anime stereotypes... except for Kat, she sucks
DMC 4 really did make me think "Okay they need a new direction." So I'm pretty happy they did a reimagining of it. My issue is the quality of graphics went kind of sloppy. But still love the game.

i preffer his character development of this new one. The new one has jokes, but he is not as charismatic as the old one due his hard life until he got his Rebelion some time before DMC (according with the comic, he grew up in a hell orphanage). Regardless, the execution of this new storytelling still has its important buts like: Why Dante was a hostage and tortured in a hell orphanage during his childhood, but not executed (comic)? Dante didnt suspect Virgil was his brother when he saw him (even though they are twins) Repetition of phrases of "you dont remember me" during the gameplay inside of Dante´s head. The comic was very short. etc.
Say what you want about DmC, but this game was awesome to me and has amazing music. I feel the imaginative *level design* was better than the main games as well, even DMC5. Can't say the same for most of the characters here tho. Very corny and tries waaaay too hard to be cool and edgy.

I was actually hoping that Ninja Theory would do a sequel and they probably would have if the game sold better but, unfortunately most DMC fans hated it so they didn't buy it or ever give it a chance.
to me it was good cuz of how simplified the combat is. and the amount of battle themes there are; you just dont get 1-2 battles theme all game. here its like 10+
