No matter how many modern, big budget 'killer shark films' have come out, with special FX, CGI, Bikini Babes, etc. None will ever match Jaws for it's simplicity, suspense, dramatic storyline, musical score, top-notch acting and sheer terror!
Try Seal Island, a small land mass located 5.7 kilometres off the northern beaches of False Bay, near Cape Town in South Africa. The island is so named because of the great number of Cape fur seals that occupy it. It is 5 acres in area and home to 64,000 cape fur seals. And .. notorious for it's Great White Sharks. Some years back, the daily Maritime Coastal Patrol nicknamed one of the 'regulars' in the Bay, 'the Bus'.

I just have always loved how the score goes..."Down the drain" as Brody backs up. Dread, dread, Dread!!! Then there is that kind of "Door bell" portion as it comes back around to the start of the shark theme at 0:23. Almost the musical equivalent of "Here comes the fun!!"
My dad took us to see this when it came out right before we went to the beach. That smart man found away to keep us out of the water..I used the same tactic on my little ones. They didn't go but ankle deep.. Thanks pops we miss you ..
It's interesting how the 2 experts of the party made the biggest mistakes which caused them to face their later trials. Hooper disadvantages them by trying to one up Quint with his new technology, costing Quint the killshot. And Quint disadvantages them by destroying the radio and pushing the boat engine too far, ultimately leading to its breakdown. The Chief is the only one to do everything right, eve though he was completely out of his depth, and scared of the ocean
Quint foreshadowed his death when he described his Indianapolis experience. He spent his life since WW2 killing sharks to honor his fallen brothers. Hooper survives in the end so I don’t really think he “faced his fate,” as you described. I do admire a later scene when Quint and Hopper attack the shark in the way their profession and lives taught them to. Brody being completely a fish out of water, does what he is trained for, and draws a gun to shoot the great white. Reminds me Spielberg’s later Raiders scene, the showdown between a sword expert and Indy, who proceeds to draw his pistol and blow the guy away.
@@HarrisonHollers By "faced their later trials", I meant what happened to all three of them. Even though Hooper didn't die he still went through some shit.
