The song begins by immediately giving us a hint of the bass before we go through the build up. After this introduction, the song is composed of two sections. The first being a slow relaxing build up and the second featuring a unique drop. I'll start with the build up. This build up is slightly different from most dubstep build ups. Instead of concentrating on building the energy of the track. This build up heavily concentrates on developing some of the melodies and patterns that are to be used later. One of the instruments I'd like to point out here is the echoing synthesizer, as I feel that this, in some ways foreshadows some aspects of the approaching drop (I'll talk more about that later.) The progressions here are very relaxing and the way the song fades out before getting ready to introduce the drop is a great transition that's just sudden enough to notice without it seeming jarring. The drop itself is interesting. It's much smoother and relaxing than most other drops and it really provides a touch of variety to this track while still keeping the overall ambient feel. The way it fades in and out is amazing and it almost seems to echo upon itself (like the horn from earlier). It never gets too chaotic and is very comfortable to listen to. In the end, this song is one of those great songs that tread the line between great danceability and great relaxation. Good song, overall.
i love this song as well but i dont really think dubstep was that creative back in 2011-14. specifically the brostep stuff i dont have massive beef with it, its just that it can be a little too easy to find generic dubstep songs from that era. a tiny bit hypocritical though, because i LOVE square bass trench, but oh well 😅
