- The wedding of Their Royal Highnesses, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden took place on the 19th of June 2010 in Stockholm Cathedral. Here, one sees Victoria walk down the aisle accompanied by her father, Carl XVI Gustaf, King of Sweden.
I was there, not inside the church but 2 friends and I stood 10 m from crown prinsess Victoria and prince Daniel when they passed later on the street, in a horse drawn carriage. It was a very special feeling in Stockholm that day.Around 500 000 people in the streets and great joy. A happy day it was in our Swedish kingdom.
There is a humility, sweetness about this Royal Family. They are not stiff even in formal settings. They are not afraid to show joy, warmth and affection for each other. The children seem at ease not scared - so cute!!
The same with the Danish Royals. I love them, so natural
You know it is possible to give a compliment to the swedish culture without belittling another culture in the process. It makes your compliment seem fecicious.

Victoria's tiara was originally Empress Josephine's, wife of Napoleon. It passed to her granddaughter, Josephine of Leuchtenberg who was the wife of Oscar I, king of Sweden. It's called the Cameo Tiara, said to be one of Victoria's favorites.

My favourites of the royal jewelry, that crown princess Victoria has worn at other occasions and that have a very special history, are the "Vasa-earrings" from the 1700:ds. They are connected to the fact that an older royal lineage of Sweden intermarried with a newer dynasty in 1881, so the dynasties were combined. In 1809 the Swedish king Gustav IV Adolf (Holstein Gottorp-Vasa) was deposed and exiled together with his wife and children. They brought with them these earrings abroad, and in 1881, when Gustav IV Adolfs grandsons daughter Victoria of Baden married crown prince Gustav (V), king to be, of Sweden (and of the new dynasty Bernadotte) the earrings (thanks to queen Carolda of Sachsen) came back to Sweden. They can be seen as a symbol of the combination of the dynasties Bernadotte and Holstein Gottorp-Vasa(descent from Swedish 1500:ds king Gustav Vasa through female line).
..She has the most beautiful smile and they look genuinely in love and true partners in every sense of the word.

From what I have heard, Princess Victoria, and Prince Daniel have a loving marriage, and great family life.
They used to at least. This past Christmas there were really bad cheating rumors about Daniel and also that he’s verbally abusive to her. They seem to have worked through it but I’m Swedish and I’m not so sure he deserves her anymore. She really is our national treasure and Will be an amazing queen one day.

I ran into sisters from Sweden this summer and expressed my love for this family after watching their celebrations and family events. The ladies were thrilled and said how much they loved their royal family and felt so lucky to have such a wonderful family representing Sweden!

I really love this Royal Family. There are just so normal. Victoria looked stunning and her Dad, might be the king, but he had a look on his face like all fathers, so proud of his daughter. It was nice to see how Daniel was looking at her from where he was waiting for his beautiful bride

Well, this tiara is certainly a "big gun". 😉😄 It's not an easy one to style, so this isn't seen often (other pieces of that parure are worn more often, like the bracelet). There are one or two huge ones that are worn by Queen Silvia. The Swedish royal family have a good number of tiaras. Some are a lot more manageable and "modest", as far as tiaras go. 😊

How does the Royal Family do it all? They are always there for everybody; always ready to be of service and they always always have a smile on their faces like they are overjoyed to be on display. They have no privacy, no "Me" time. They have to be super organized and look beautiful and impeccably turned out. It seems like a fairy tale life but if it were me, I would be screaming for time off, a day where I could sleep late and just let everything wait for tomorrow.
