Amazing layout! Hope one day I can achieve what those who’ve met the quality requirements to be on this channels layout tour some day. I too use soil and any foliage I can from the area in which my main GCL layout resides, only thing I have to do to really top it off is crushing oysters shells to make the ballast that they used for the track bed on at least one of my branch lines. Sell seafood for a living so I definitely have been crushing the ones that die overtime running them over but intend on using it as the ballast. Lived in Ogden UT for a couple years and really enjoy Utah model railways excellent for scenery and the ability to run many fallen flags or still existing class ones and still be prototypical
Very cool! Doing a DRGW based layout myself here in Australia....I have the same Scale trains GP30s!! I'm only at the track laying stage at the moment....little bit left to do then can start wiring it up.. What grades and radius curves are you running?
I live here in SLC. I bought the locomotive and had decals made for an Utah Railway. I don’t have the skill to make it happen though. I would love to see one of their beautiful orange locomotives in HO scale.
This is what the Rio Grande was all about ! Great layout and fabulous rocks. Love those GP30's.
So so amazing!! I’m glad you won the “land rights “❤️❤️❤️
Always love seeing the Rio Grande! Thanks for posting!
I heard you might like D&RGW a little bit!
Nice Video! As a model RRer who lives in Sedona, I approve the shirt James had on!
James, I had no idea. I mean I knew you were talented but wow. Should have come as no surprise I suppose. Loved every bit of it.
Thanks I’m glad you enjoyed it.
I've driven that section from SLC to Grand Junction so many times in the past 30 years! Your modeling is superb! I love the canyon work you've done!
Awesome layout! Great detailing.
Beautiful layout! Thanks for sharing….
Very nicely done. Attention to derail is superb.
Absolute DREAM pike! Top execution ! Colors and textures are spot on! Rocks are perfect!
James did an amazing job!
The attention to detail and the rocks are just fascinating. What an incredible railroad.
Very impressive result for such a relatively short period of time building! Love the Fairbanks loco in the early part of the video.
Thank you for sharing, you did an excellent job on the rock exposures.
Wonderful tour. The rock work is superb! Thanks for sharing.

The steepest grade is 2%.
The whitest turn I have is 36 inch and the narrowest is 28 back in my yard as I turn around
