Mine have all been gone for about a year. I sold the cage but sometimes I have extra food, and get kinda excited about sharing and how happy they will be for a treat. And BAM. The feels come out all over again. Such little blessings to us who know.
losing pringle was the hardest and i still cry many times. pringle was my heart mouse. she loved the wheel and would greet me every day when i came home from school. she loved peanuts and lettuce. every pet mouse and rat leaves pawprints in our hearts
These little guys are the sweetest pets. Most folks just don't understand what giant personalities are packaged in such tiny bodies. We lost three in the last three months (they were all the same age), and it kills us every time. Rest in peace, little one!
I had three little rats. Rosie, Daisy and Willow. They dyed a couple of years ago. Then yesterday I stumbled across a box in my closet of all there old things and it just hit me. They were my life and I had so many memories with them. When they died I promised myself I would never forget them I really hope I can keep that promise to myself and them. I love them sooooo much. 🥺

Our sons first friend was his pet rat Theodore. He would sit on our sons shoulder a long time and our son would read a book. Theodore never left his shoulder. But sat there for the longest time. Rats are the best small pet, in my opinion.
Beautiful tribute, and wise, compassionate words. I have two little grave markers in our yard that I keep well-tended. It still hurts, but it was worth it to know Susie and Sophie, and receive everything they gave us.

the empty cage, the chewn toys they are reminders 😢 i miss my angels very much. my heart hurts so much losing them. they are so beautiful and make life so magikal.. i love rats and mice, such special souls.
I would like to be friends with a small friend… But it would hurt too much to lose a small friend… I miss Brown and so many small friends and I do not live with them… But I love the people who give them very amazing lives! They are strong and amazing and good people! They make the lives of a small friend so happy and the small friend loves them very much! You are a very good person!
