Sometimes if the oil is applied to heavily it will soak through the paper and sit on the surface of the receiving surface. That can cause smearing. I try to use just enough oil to make the paper translucent, too much and it can saturate and bleed through. Lifting it a little and letting it dry slightly can help too.

I'll try. Are you using Laser prints? They should work. Inkjet prints don't work at all.
