Pat Payton needs another DE applying pessure from the other side to help his game!!! JuJu Smith-Schuster looked like a superstar WR when Antonio Brown was in Pittsburgh. When he left JuJu wasn't the same player. Jared Verse and Jermaine Johnson is to Pat Payton like Antonio Brown was to JuJu . He not the same when it's not another good DE force to QB into him. He got a lot of sloppy seconds sacks!!!#Ijs
His downfall started when he initially entered the portal after Verse and Fiske left and demanded he got paid the same way just to be a non factor this season him and Marvin Jones Jr didn’t live up to the hype the way FSU is getting guys out the portal they won’t be missed
The defense was not the problem most of this season. Because of offense inability to score or even hold long drives, mentally and physically it probably took steam out of the defense. How many times the offense went for it on fourth down regardless of where they were on the field. The other teams was getting to many At bats against a team that did not have quality depth. You never saw guys on the defense moan and complain but play hard. Patric was the one getting double team this season, from a defense that lost Braden Fisk and Jared Verse. Payton who started the season a top five draftable jr- his stock probably went down this season because of the view of the overall team record. If he feels he can go somewhere and it betters his situation why hate on him and down talk him. FSU is my team but let’s start with the administration and the coaches when we talk about loyalty over the years. If it was as a lack of talent on the team then they should have kept the Defensive Coordinator, if the talent was not the issue then go to the Defensive Coordinator. Now that money is involved with the players and we have the rules we have should not be mad for an employee who wants to maximize their worth and explore other opportunities.
Let him go and don’t take him back he didn’t earn his paycheck I think a lot of these guys think they are entitled to something and don’t have to perform. Welcome to the real world I don’t do my job I don’t get paid
