Elijah is such a nice young man and I'm so glad to see the family's support for his love of cooking. That said, I do worry about the toll eating so heavy will have on his health as he gets older. The family seems to often eat meals high in calories, starch and saturated fat (fried chicken, potatoes, bread, rice, gravies, etc.). Maybe have more meals with vegetables.

I too have a son who is now grown and up until 4 years ago was diagnosed as morbidly obese. As a child, I cooked high calorie foods most meals and put both of my children on a path to become obese. While I understand any mother's love for their child I also know first hand that same love can come in many forms like food pacifying. I've seen some mean spirited comments on your blogs but trust me when I tell you my comment was meant with good intentions. Wishing you and your family God's blessings.
I can actually see Elijah on Masterchef Jr... follow your heart Elijah. He really helps the youth. It's a lot more to it than what we see. He also keeps up with every one of them.

Danisha and Cliff, please find your local cooking school to get him prepared for competitions in the future.. There is no doubt that he can cook..
