What’s the material used for a cool heat compared to a hot heat? What about using dried orange peel ? Can you use dried herbs? My understanding is that Thyme would be good to keep out hive pest… like beetles and mites. ( from what I’ve read )

Best fire in my smoker is pine straw. Can find in any pine forest on the ground. Best part is it is FREE.
