As a farmer the reason why the much land goes to livestock is that its not valuable for anything else. Its either to far away, too steep, too wet or too dry to do anything else with. The vast majority of the land is poor pasture in western states thats always had grazing animals on it for thousands of years. And the rest of what cows eat are inesible by products that used to be thrown away like wheat midds, soy hulls, corn fines, spent brewers grains, distillers grains from ethanol plants, beet pulp, cutrus pulp, cottonseed, bread meal, bakery waste, straw and soybean meal is a by product of soybean oil made for humans or biodeisel what cows eat is almost entirely up cycling what used to be put in landfills. This far all of the startups with cultured meat have been a huge money pit not just the product is bad but the inputs are extremely expensive as is the process and that only becomes orders of magnitude more of a problem when scaling. I work in Agtech and one thing folks in SF dont understand is building things with atoms at scale is soooo mich harder than a world of bytes. I think there has been alot of hubris after the SaaS success that they know better and everyone else just needs to catch up. Plus software is the last non regulated industry...
"there were no Republican votes on the inflation reduction act" GOOD. That act is a misnomer and it sucked. Those Republicans had some brain cells on that one.
Agree with a lot of what he's saying, but he sounds dumb pointing fingers at all Republicans and claiming they hate immigrants or are opposed to vaccines etc. Talk to a real life Republican you know (if you know any as someone watching a video posted by Berkeley lol) and see if they think vaccines work and that the covid vaccine was rushed and mandates are unethical, and ask what they think about legal immigration as opposed to illegal immigration.
