I've had a plan for a couple of years to build a home automation system to control every part of my home. I'm finally doing it, and will turn it into a series of videos.

Really looking forward to this, I'm currently trying to do to the same thing as I'd love to have smart home stuff but don't want to rely on a manufacturer's cloud service for everything. I just need to get the finger out and find the time to work on the software, hopefully this series will be the motivation I need!

actually choosing different language for every microservice is a good idea. since micro services are separated there’s no need to create them using the same tools, the main thing is their ability to communicate

Sounds like a fun series! I am sort of obsessed with home Automation and I think pretty much every front end I have seen is not good at all. I will be very interested in what you come up with. I have Harmony Hub as well to control the telly and DVR. I can control pretty much everything from a phone and also lots of things from Alexa. But you are really flipping from app to app to app and would be much more fun to have actual integration and an attractive front end. So very interested in what you come up with!
