Sad that very few new things are being made for the 1st generation of Tacomas. My 1995 single cab 4x4 manual transmission still runs great but very hard to get anything modern on it. Headlights from the retrofit source are about the newest technology I have on it. Guess I'll stick with the round fish eye mirror.

FYI for all doing this mod...you don't need the tape and screwdriver to remove the OEM mirrors btw. Just pull/angle the bottom of the mirror out and stick your fingers under and pull out. SUPER easy! Took like 15 sec per side...

Awesome video. Those a holes in low riding cars in your blind spots are the biggest menaces on the road. Good solution. Video quality is excellent. I got booted from Tacomas World as well. The mods hate being corrected. Peace

I'm used to the little fish eye mirrors but these look much more professional. Little pricey for me but I will save up and add these to my 2014 PreRunner.
Yeah I had one of the fish eye mirrors on my driver side and these are far superior. The adjustable glass on these is much larger and easier to view.

I went with the Hilux driver's side mirror which is available on this site. Huge difference. I'm used to the EURO mirror on my car so this was a sweet find.

Yeah I had one of those on my driver side mirror and the spotter mirror one blows it out of the water as far as what you can easily see.

How do you use the heated mirror function? My taco didn't come with them like they do in the north.
There is wiring specific for that function that ties to a switch inside the truck.
Did you make a video on adding the heated mirrors?

Hi,
I bought the vertical-articulating mirrors and had a HUGE problem installing them. The bottom plastic clips don't protrude far enough. I'm under the impression that the mirrors are not for a Tacoma (2010). Eventually, I did get them to clip on to the white section... after applying a lot of force. I had to use a screw driver behind the white section on a couple of the clips. Did anyone else have this trouble? Although they feel secure, I'm almost halfway expecting the mirrors to pop out. They also don't publish their return policy.

@@Tacomaholic Yes, I contacted them and, initially, told him I was going to return the mirrors. His English wasn't very good, so he didn't understand my complaint about the plastic clasps. I decided to try the install again and barely got them installed.

They are sold individually, but when you click the link you will see options for the driver and passenger side so you can get both at the same time.
Great video, thanks! Which version is better for blind spots, horiz or vert? Can the vertical version turn inward enough to see the nurf bar/side rail?
Both are good and yes the vertical version turn inwards, but I think the corner version is better in general since it gives you a larger area to look at vs the thinner vertical one.
The vertical one can in fact be turned inward, so you will be able to see your nurf bar and even any cargo you may have in the back of the truck

did you ever get the heater feature to work? also does your side blinkers work on your offroad?
My truck never came with the heater function so I'd have to add it and it's pretty expensive. I should be able to get the side blinkers working though.

I have a 2007 and want to upgrade my mirrors to a TRD sport mirror, do you know if the bolt pattern is the same?
It should be at least for a 2005-2011 TRD Sport and I bet it would also match for a 2012-2015 TRD Sport.
I got them and went to install them today. Unfortunately the damn thing broke, the glass is incredibly thin and the bracket on the back was extremely narrow and tight in comparison to the OEM. I reinstalled the OEM with no problem and now I’m out $80 for a mirror. I went to contact them today about returning the unbroken mirror and they are out for the next 4 days. Really bummed out, I wanted these to workout.
Question...? I have side blind spot sensors on my 2017 tacoma... Can I disconnect the sensors without codes and use these mirrors?
I'm not sure if that will throw any codes or display warning lights, but you could always unplug it and see.
I just ordered my fab Fours bumper replacement and once I am finished with the installation without the BMS I'll update you with the details, I did visit with our local Toyota mechanic and he said as long as I shut off my BMS on the dash button and then unplug the monitors at the bumper, tape them up and out of the way and then behind the dash switch unplug it without accidentally turning it on by pushing in the button... No codes will come on... He did say for less confusion replace the BMS dash sw with another switch like my Winch or overhead light bar ect ect... Hope he is right! I'll keep you posted!

Bro......you buried the lead........heated mirror compatible!!!!! Do they work with stock mirrors? Does the same company sell the wiring harness w/switch? I have a 2014 DCSB OR.
Looks like that company only sells the mirror glass and none of the heating or electronics associated with mirrors.
Tacomaholic If you do figure out all the parts.......pls post up. Pretty interested in an easy solution.

Before I even start to watch, let me say that I have used these before and if you put it on any other place than the inner bottom of the mirrors,
you're loosing real estate and making your amount of vision less than without.

@@Tacomaholic you're a homie! I recently swapped over from a 7.3 F250 because a gas station in Jersey put gas instead of diesel in it blew up the motor and trans. I wanna 6" BDS lift my 05 Tacoma and throw the tacomabeast headlights on your channel is a big help for ideas too I already got the gear shifter light in blue and the Chinese AC knobs. Love em! Keep up the good work!
