I have one.. love it! Just make sure you don't set the red button to be PTT... or else you will accidentally engage the PTT feature when the phone is in your pocket and if you don't have the antenner hooked up you could cream the finals.
I have to ask. Is there a way to have PTT via wifi with other? I think Zello was a thing a decade ago, but is there a set up your own private walkie-talkie network via the internet?
Hello, I’m 2E0ULH, I’ve just got my atom xl dmr, have you notice that it doesn’t do true slot 1 or slot 2 dmr? Mine won’t tx on dmr unless in direct mode?
That's cool. Had the old high school security people have the old phone with walkie talkie. Same with one of my old works. Had those child ones from the convenience store when i was a child. Was funny stuff., Can i get something that plugs into the USB or something so i don't have to get the hole thing.
A group of friends I got my ARL with in the 90s all went to jail for misusing their equipment. I was lucky that I simply wasn't hanging around with them when they were breaking the FCC rules... BTW I'm purposely not being specific about what things they did because I don't want to inspire a copy cat. It ended up being a six months joint FBI/FCC and local cops operation to identify the voice and location of three Jr high students just joking around for a cumulative 2 or 3 hours. The federal government in the United States takes radio "space" very seriously. They tracked my friends down even though they had mobile equipment and never used it in the same place twice...I would love to see a breakdown of the equipment and methodology the feds used... If you live somewhere outside the U.S., it may be an unenforced thing though...and it doesn't hurt to have equipment you aren't licensed to use, just for emergencies. I'll gladly pay a fine or do community service if that's the only way to get hold of emergency services. That said, most people can pass the test with a minimal of study, and you only have to renew every then years, at least in the U.S.A.

When you see Lon as a video in Amazon products 😎
Good review. Thank you.
Your channel is wonderful. Not sure why your not at a million subs...for some reason it bugs me.
How would this do with echolink? I'm sure the echolink app would work, but could you use the PTT button with echolink?
I think that would depend on whether or not Echolink could support using the button - they'd have to code that in I think.
Can you set this radio to use the FRS frequency range
This is the phone that should have had a giant battery.

Does it have bluetooth? Paired with a mobile UHF amp, I could see it being useful in the car.
According to the specs Unihertz says it does support bluetooth - I did not test that myself unfortunately.
It would be super cool if it supports a Bluetooth speaker mic.
Isn't this thing really old now?
Need this phone
Capable of out of band I assume it has not been cleared by the FCC. So illegal to use.
There is always one of you.
Why even bother getting a license?
