I think the staff were thinking ahead into the training, even though Kaylee didn't execute the song very well, in their mind she's going to sound great very quick with some guidance. I'm curious to see how they all handle singing and dancing at the same time though.
I think, going off of KG getting a dance stone and the reasoning, Savannah should’ve gotten a stone here. I liked her singing, she sounded nice and she improved so much. I don’t disagree with giving one to Kaylee, BUT her biggest issue was that while she has so much vocal talent but she was off the music, and Yuna in dance was really good just off the music. So I think Yuna should’ve gotten a dance stone too by that reasoning.
I mean Kaylee has better singing skills than Savanna for sure. And he mentioned it was for her skills and fundamentals. I think she deserved it more than Savanna for this round.
That’s fair, I just thought savanna’s vocals here compared to what we heard (granted just a small clip) from the regional audition was a MUCH bigger improvement than KG’s dance from regional to the boot camp. And Kaylee made a fundamental mistake by going ahead of the music before the second chorus. I thought savanna stepped up to the challenge and deserved the stone.
I don't think it matters whether you agree with the results or not. Because each person has a different subjective point of view and is moved by different points. I think it's the way each one cheers for the members. There is no need to disparage others just because the way they cheer is different. They will grow and it is enough to support them.
I certainly don't intend to come across as disparaging anyone and I do apologize if it seems that I'm doing so, but I also don't see myself as biased against a specific contestant either. I see and I hear what's on the screen and give my opinion on it, that's all. And of course it doesn't matter whether I agree, I'm not the one making the decisions in this :)
@@JustinJihyo It's enough to enjoy the show and encourage your favorite members. However, I am concerned that the momentary over-immersion may be seen as an angry appearance. Let's enjoy the next show. However, in the third stage, JYP's supervision will be the most involved.
You don't have to be sensitive to the number of stones. The member who collects 4 stones will go to Korea. And even if the number of stones is not enough, JYP will also take members with potential who JYP wants to teach. In the 4th stage (showcase), each member will receive professional guidance from trainers for about 48 hours. In the process, the growth of the members proves the speed of their own growth. Perhaps that is the potential that JYP values most.
Kaylee was off beat yes not really shakey her notes were strong and as for savanna although she improved a little i don't think she earned a stoned because she just went for the easier safer route intsead of really trying to improve, jyp proved that with the simple chord progressions as well as her breathing is practically at the base level she needs the stone as motivation to focus up and really improve its odd you have such a bias against kaylee she has shown tons of potential in singing and her fundamentals are solid the off beat is easy to fix especially since a lot of performers use tempo keeping earpieces on stage
I understand that it’s fixable, I just thought it was such a fundamental mistake and that the extreme range of the song was a little too much for her. Just thought it was a poor choice of song and she exacerbated it with the early start on the chorus. I really liked her regional audition, I don’t know why so many think I’m biased against her lol. It was a bad day in my opinion. We all have them.
Savanna has a beautiful deep voice. I think they didn't give her the stone because she lowered the key too much, that the song became too easy for her vocal range (the original song was higher and more difficult). If she believed in herself and raise the key a little higher, she would have received the stone. I do agree that Kaylee has better breathing technique than Savanna though; the song she (Kaylee) chose is simply not suitable for her. But in general, I prefer Savanna's performance.
Personally I agree with you on that, and (as I’ve mentioned before, I hope this isn’t an annoyance to people) I’m kinda looking at this through the lens of forming a group like Twice. Not everyone is going to be Jihyo or Nayeon, there’s room for STEADY vocalists who don’t have quite as much talent, and I think Savanna fits that well. I’ll go ahead and concede that I’m looking too much into Kaylee getting ahead of the song (poor song choice and the effects on her performance notwithstanding) but I feel like someone of her talent should be able to feel the song at all times AND that during a real performance, even people who can’t sing AT ALL will notice the timing being off, so that bothered me greatly.
If Savanna had practiced each key and had confidence, the results would have been good. It seems that she was seen as passive by lowering two keys. As much as she actually lowered the key, the liveliness of her song also went down. Strictly speaking, if an applicant sings in two keys lower, she is not even considered for a general audition in Korea. Kaylee was praised for her breathing and vocalization in her regional qualifiers. It seems that she was only trying to highlight her strong points in her. If she had chosen her songs for her age, she would have sounded good... I was not impressed either. It doesn't matter if the lyrics or tempo are wrong for a moment. The purpose is to see the quality and potential of the members, not the perfection of the stage.
Why are you so against Kaylee doing well? I love both Savanna and Kaylee, and I want them both to make it into the group. I agree that Savanna should have gotten a stone, but that's not a reason to tear down Kaylee. THEY CAN ALL MAKE IT INTO THE GROUP! IT'S NOT A COMPETITION! JYP and the team could have decided to give all of the members stones, but they didn't. Personally, I want all of them to make it. I'm not trying to be rude about it, but I think you were more rude than I'm being right now. It lowkey sounded like you hated Kaylee. Please just keep the fact that this is not a competition show in mind. I'm wishing you the best! I usually love your content, but this was an exception. Have a lovely day!
Thanks for your feedback, I just think kaylee faltered in this round and made it hard on herself, she was way ahead of the music before the second chorus which is an incredibly fundamental mistake and I thought savanna was far more consistent overall. I’ll personally take a steady singer over someone who has flair but makes glaring mistakes or misses the timing. As I said in last night’s reaction, get the base right and then move from there. Just my opinion :) as it always is. Thank you again!
@@JustinJihyo I do agree that Kaylee didn't do very well in this performances, but she has more technique in singing than a lot of the other contestants. She's also fluent in Korean, which is very helpful. Overall, Kaylee probably has a great chance of making it into the group. She's the youngest. The younger you are, the faster you learn. I believe Kaylee will make it into the group as a vocalist and maknae. I'm not sure if she'd make it to main or lead vocalist, but she'll definitely have more lines than a sub vocalist. In Savanna's case, she's the best rapper so far. She's got great dancing skills (one of the best). She really lacks in singing though. I think Savanna would have had a better chance at getting the stone if she did a song with both singing and rapping. She did improve since the last time she sang, but it wasn't a drastic change. I believe Savanna will make it into the group as a main rapper and lead dancer. If Savanna improves on her singing, she'll probably be a sub vocalist. In conclusion, they both need vocal coaches/teachers desperately.
@@terricamburn9392 I’m wondering when that’s going to come out again or if they’ll just skip rapping for now and continue putting a group together for Korea. Maybe in the group parts.
I like kaylee as well and i want alllll of them to make it. However, i did find there might a but of favoritism towards kaylee .. i can be wrong but for the dance stone, Yuna did so well in her dance too plus he comment how well she’s good with her dances with making her lines beautiful but she danced off beat for a part of the dance and didnt get the stone.. doesn’t it seem biased and off? I get the evaluation part includes JYP’s other staff but yep they might just really like kaylee too.
i do doubt if kaylee really deserves the stone though. i mean missing the beat is too much crucial mistake. watching jyp give away the stone to her, it seems very much unfair to mellisa, kg, camila, and even to kendall. kaylee not only went off the beat, but couldn't hold herself back in the middle of feedback unlike kendall. that was so immature of her. someone might argue she is just a kid. so what? so is everyone there. in any world of professionals, no one gives a dxxn about what age you are. they care only about how well you perform
I do agree with everything you said and I was imagining a live performance as well where even people who can’t sing will recognize the timing being off, but I’ll admit that as far as the emotional aspect, JYP is absolutely more suited for this than I would be and I actually have gained so much respect for him during this. He’s got to walk the line between the business and human parts of this process and I really feel he’s done a great job of it.
I also think Savanna should have received the stone, but even if she didn't get it this time, she will definitely debut!

Yes same here! I’m hoping the “star quality” episodes won’t be a letdown but I’m ready for the final mission personally lol.
