I wash them manually, have a tub of warm water and just scoop it out and wash them like that. My cat likes it that way and now it has ptsd from the bathroom. He has a seizure whenever I bring him inside.
My cat doesn’t mind I trim his nails. He might get impatient and try to leave but he almost never gets upset. He knows that when I’m done he can go so he’s used to the routine. He does get treats after though. Baths he doesn’t like but he won’t claw at me either
Fun fact: grooming is also a dominance thing with cats! The most dominant cat will do the most grooming. This is why you can see them get upset while cleaning each other. It means someone is cleaning more than they are supposed to!
Didnt know that! I see now why DD and MOMO would smack lulu when he grooms them. Although it seems likes lulu is just grooming furry things because he likes to chew/lick stuff in general lol
That is fascinating, we had our oldest cat grooming the newcomers, but we thought it was because they were young cats. As an adult, second of the young cats seemed scared stiff when our old boy groomed him. Dominance makes sense. All 3 have now passed away from age. Our oldest lived to 20 years before his kidneys failed. One had aggressive tumours in her liver. Last one had a cancer tumors that kept growing back to his mouth until he, at the age of 16, became too old to operate on and the tumor grew so much he had difficulty eating even the softest food and we decided to euthanize rather than let him starve to death☹. Sorry going off topic, I still miss those cats.

With my cats they'd leave the bathroom with more of my blood than water on them
The trick is to have a glass shower door. You don’t want to hold them. Put a rubber mat on the shower floor so they don’t slip. It’s easy from there.
