Brett graduated from the same high school that my husband and daughter graduated from. He was on the 1998 osceola high school football team. We won the state championship game that year. My daughter was in the band. The game was played at UF. We have great memories of that game and all of the osceola games! Brett was a KOWBOY before he became a NOLE!
Love this, Ira. Great job. I remember when he was recruited. His dad posted on a message board I used back then. Brett became the "adopted son" of the message board. I remember how nervous his dad was the week of the Florida game. Brett was going up against an AA DE (I think it was Wilbur Marshall). Brett ate him up all game. I don't think he got a single pressure on Weinke. (Gotta love anybody with the first name of 'Brett' even if he puts an extra "t" in it.
Wilbur Marshall played at UF on the 1980s , Brett played at FSU in the late 90s early 2000s , Wilbur Marshall played on The 85 Bears and won a Super Bowl with the Redskins in 1991
@@brettaylor9098 Jevon Kearse was already gone by then Kerase last year at UF was 98 he was a starting on the Titans Super Bowl runner up squad in 1999
I already love this series. Can hardly wait to watch the next one. I'm looking forward to learning about some players, like Brett Williams, that I wasn't familiar with.
Met Brett at a party in tally around 08. Dude was very nice and loved talking ball about the years he played. Class act.
This was so fun to watch! Thanks, Ira!!
5 ⭐️ interview. I couldn’t get away from it.

@@Almighty5-ww1kl Thanks. I don't remember the name, but it was a big time UF defensive end. I'll see if I can find it.
Maybe it was Jevon Kearse?
@ it probably was Alex Brown who went to the Bears 🐻

I died laughing when Ira snorted when laughing lol
Great video Ira!
The more a team has players who grew up actually wanting to play at a university the better that team will be.
Merry Christmas sir.
