Actually it was recorded in an empty auditorium in Cincinatti. It was his brother in law Zyshe Heschel who recorded it. He composed it in 1942 when he was 17 years old

He was a brother-in-law of the Kapitchnitzer Reb Zeesha Heschel? How?
Also, are you referring to the Lecha Dodi? It is such a classic, and according to R' Dovid Ze'eira in "Min Ha'Otzar 50" (ruclips.net/video/G2oE5DqYCPs/видео.html), he composed it in 1944, at age 19. The "Shoshanas Yaakov" was composed in 1950 (age 25).

@@lsmart Reb Zeesh Heschel was a son of the Kopitchniter Rebbe. Reb Benzion and Reb Zyshe married sisters. Th Lecho Dodi was indeed composed in 1944. Regarding the Shoshans Yakov I have to listen to it. One was composed in 1950 as you stated However he composed another one 1n 1945 as well. The Yoh Ribbon olam was composed in 1942. The Shir hamalos somachte was composed in 1946. If you have more questions you can contact me.

@@vnewmark2024 The first Shoshanas Yaakov is available at the 42:55 mark on this video (ruclips.net/video/0zZb7WhsPR8/видео.html). His earliest confirmed composition that I have is this delightful niggun from the beginning of Min HaOtzar-50 (ruclips.net/video/G2oE5DqYCPs/видео.html), composed in 1941 at 16 (followed by a later recording of this Lecha Dodi), but the Koh Ribbon that he composed a year later was indeed his first true classic. Don't be surprised if I come back to you in the future for some possible info on Reb Benzion or any of his niggunim. All the best.
