you might want to use painters tape to hold the material in place and to cover the pleats during the process. then you can avoid some of the stops during sewing. Just a suggestion.
Hi ludy! I use embrilliance and when I selected the 9x11file it opened and instead of being a lot larger than the hoop it fit within. This must be because of how the designer made the file. She just made it a bit small from what I can tell.
Thank you for the video. I had one question, for the fabric for the sides, do you go to the outside edge or just to end of the line on the template? It seemed like you went to the outside edge. This is where I want my masks to have a more finished look is at the ends.
I've had good success either loosing up the screw on the foot and sliding it up so it doesn't catch so much or using painters tape up the tack downs and x across and just stitching through it bc it will come out in the first wash.
Thank you for doing this video. I purchased this file and it is so complicated. There is threads going all over the place. There is no measurements, the masks gets ripped out like you said if you don’t put the cloth on top of it. Too many steps. Very frustrating design. I would not recommend this to anyone. I waisted my money and my fabric. Thank you again for this video. However I think I’m done with this mask.
Totally understand that’s why I shared so that people could see how to navigate it if they need masks personally but not feel that it’s something their doing wrong if they find it frustrating.
Ive recieved so much great advice like this after posting the video its one of the reasons i wanted a channel so that people could bring their ideas to the channel to help me improve myself!
This file is a PES file it’s the type of file that an embroidery machine reads. You can purchase it on their website you don’t need a Facebook. However just to be clear this is not a sewing machine design
Melissa Hoff Or, if you didn’t want to do the painters tape, which I actually think is a really good idea because it will leave absolutely no residue, you could even put down a piece of water soluble topping over everything as you’re sewing. The only things you would need stop for would be to trim the sides of the front fabric and to fold the side flaps down. Other than that, the topping could be sufficient to prevent the foot from catching on the pleats or the edges of the side flaps. And, of course, the topping is easy to remove once you’re done.
I think this would be a question you would have to ask joy because she creates the file. If you arn’t part of the Facebook group I could add you, and you could ask her. Maybe someone else uses the same thing you are.

Great job, Melissa! Thank you for going step-by-step and showing us your tips and tricks.
Thank you!
Thank you for this! Can you explain how to add the elastic or ponytail holder? Also, what size do you recommend for kids?
A lot of people are asking this so I’m gonna do a small video I’ll Comment as soon as I have it up
Hi, how do you use a bigger file. My pe770 does not allow me to load anything bigger than 5x7. Please help me.

What about using painters tape to tape down the from pleats?
Someone suggested that as well! I’ve been implementing the suggestions like this people comment!

Where is the design?
My step one doesn’t do the entire outline.
That’s strange what does vp3 stand for?
