Thank you! I am new to all of these these and more than a little nervous about trashing my tools!

Hi, thank you for your video.
Do you keep your stone in a water box or do you keep it dry stored and when you want to sharpen your tools, you put it in a water tray for a while before sharpening?
    thank you for the precision!

Just purchased a Japanese Santoku whetstone to sharpen my linocut Pfeil tools. The slipstone isn't essential is it? I can do that with a piece of thick cloth? Thank you!

Why do you move the back and forth on the wetstone? Why not just backwards? Im asking since many videos people do different directions

Viktoria Rosa that was the way I was shown but you could do it in one direction if you want. I find my method works pretty well

Does the slip stone have to be we?

Doreen Shilling yes it should be wet

Doreen Shilling yes it does, the wetness provides a kind of lubricant
