For a show like this, there's backups for everything. They literally just have to press a button (to unmute the backup). They have a standard procedure for everything that can go wrong: 1. Guitarist grabs backup... 2. Engineer unmutes backup... 3. Stage hand clears debris for safety

Allow me to explain, him grabbing it by the whammy bar like that increased the tension of the strings a lot. Placing strain on the neck, when combined with the action of kneeing it right where the neck is attached to the body there was a low likelihood of it not breaking
It's an ibanez s,very thin body connection area wooden material,and the tension and the hit of the quadrecept on the neck just breaks the bolt on connection part thin part.
He never left Ibanez, and his Custom PRS guitar is a one of a kind model that hasn’t ever been produced again considering it actually uses the same Ibanez tremolo system that he prefers on his Ibanez signature model
Unrelated but my little brother has a Peavey Vypyr with a special control board that includes various effects and a wah/volume/pitch shift. I hate the sound of that amp but whenever I play through it I like to pull up on the whammy bar and then use the pitch shift pedal to keep going up in pitch
Must have been a bolt on neck that broke from that massive fly knee. His face the second it happened was great, I'm jamming the... fuck just happened?! Instant respawn with a different loadout, amazing. Lol

I saw him in KC at the Uptown Theater years ago where he did a 360 off of a platform, landed wrong on his ankle, grabbed it for a split second, then continued to play the rest of the song on his back on the floor! 😂 It was amazing, got tons of cheers, and he needed a couple seconds to make sure he was okay after that song finished.
That part where they swing the cam away for a moment, and when it swings back he's somehow back onstage already playing a different guitar. He is some kind of wizard.
